Why CFS 2?

Ahh Geez

Hey Dirtman you know where i can find a US Navy marked Banshee? I have two good Panther, and so on, just would love a decent flying banshee to go with Korea install.

Sorry CB but I only have the one by Jim Jacobson (Rockster) in Kanadian Navy livery.......

Why don't ya twist Obi's arm & get him ta skin it fer ya?

is cfs2 worth it ?

been toolin around flight sims since the late 70's. some good, some ok, some r regretful waste of funds. Cfs2 is one that Iam glad I bought, so much so in fact that I built a computer just for it. So many planes, skins, scenery, it was over whelming at first, then comforting, then addictive. heck, you can spend a month just on the research and devolopement for one mission alone.
so if I may say, go, grab a copy, and a new hard drive, slave it, usb it, whatever, install cfs2, turn the phone off, send every one away, sit down with your favorite beverage and junk food, and prepare to learn, fly, and later, create heaven. (the force is strong in this sim)

I must have 50 different flight sims. They range from games to flight sim x accel. Straight out of the box, something about CFS2 hooked me. It is only out of it home, when I need to download something to a disc. If anybody needs a different sim let me know. Blazing Angels, Sky Aces, I also have some good ones. Free and in mint condition

Some many months ago, I did up a paint template for the Banshee...then dumped the paint template and the plane due to too many parts being untextured and colored via the mdl materials.

I am up here at 32,000' and I would like to know how to add a radio beacon to an airfield. In my CFS2 I have added most everything I can find about the Battle of Britain, but some of the airfields do not have a radio beacon I can tune in and track to so I can cross country fly at night much easier. When I crank the bad weather in, with clouds, winds, and reduced visibility navigating with ADF is excellent.
If you could just tell me where to find info or a tutorial it would be much appreciated.

Having tried all the Microsoft Simulators, Combat Flight Simulator II has been the one that emulates the real world in flight simming the best.

It will take some time to learn how to add and tune your game and computer to the way you would like the Sim to be.

It is important to read the "read me" notes that come with the downloads you get. They will guide you through the installs and save you many head aches.

tobob, something that none of my battle-buddies have told you straight up like a man, CFS2 is ADDICTIVE! SOH is our Flight Sims Annonymous Chapter.

If I can build missions in MB, anybody can. I read over Cody's tutorial several times and am able to build very basic missions. Rami and others then take those basic missions and convert them into pure heaven.
I, like others here, have flown around the world, literally in CFS2. I take off with drop tanks in a modified WWII aircraft with autopilot and fly, sometimes with the sim at 4X normal speed. I plot out my course ahead of time so that I don't run out of fuel. I cut the power to about 60 to 70%, back off the RPMs to the props and sit back and enjoy the scenery below. I have landed in several countries without ever bringing out my passport.

And, like others, have had almost every flight sim available since computers entered the houses of the world.

CFS2 is hands-down, the BEST.

addictive

I am afraid Devildog is right. CFS2 is addictive, trying to make it even better is addictive, and SOH is addictive. The good thing is, it keeps me home and out of trouble. Now please excuse me, I have some work to take care of in the MB, before my wife finds out I'm up here, again

I am officially addicted!

I have several gigs of downloads. The amount of addons is dumbfounding.

I have four installs on my computer.

I made one mission so far - Marianas Turkey Shoot - still needs work.

I am also making a custom uires for a modern jet age install.

I check SOH everyday, several times a day, it's always full of interesting fun and facts.

Eventually I will try making a few aircraft and scenery objects.

...and I've only had cfs2 for a few weeks!

The best part - I don't think my wife knows how bad it really is!

CFS2 Anonymous

CFS2 is addictive, trying to make it even better is addictive, and SOH is addictive.

I too was a CFS2 addict. I would settle down to play a campaign at 2pm and would stop when I suddenly realised I was hungry and it would be 10 or 11 pm at night. After eating and a drink of something, visit the loo and then back to the action until I was seeing 2 screens which was about 5am.

Social life went out the window, (twitch) and I could be heard muttering "MB..£$%%^*" or summat like that(stutter)atatatat.

My butt cheeks got larger from all the sitting and started to spread, until they went under the arm rests of the chair thus making the chair an addon which was OK for waiting in a queue but not for the toilet...(drool)

Some addicts find that by visiting the darkside (FSX/FS9)(spit, spit, spit) they can cure their need, personally, I turned to drink and Tamazipan(twitch) and now I find I am semi cured, well at least enough to get outta the chair when sober and walk a little bit to the cafe for my meals.
Social life is still a no hoper and I have to suffer other addicts on skype at night, but one day it will be over.:engel016:
