Garmin G1000 SVT and G600

Any developers coming out with the SVT version of the G1000? I wonder if this is possible without slowing the FPS on the average computers to single digit.

Also, if someone is coming out with the G600, I would be happy to replace the six-packs on some planes that I have.

Maybe Bill can come-out with the G600 based trike Tailwind as a supplemental (not necessarily free) add-on. I like his Garmin implementations. :d

Hey Wombat,

I was talking with someone about that the other day. If you mean the 3D view in the PFD screen in the new style G1000's. Awesome technology. The actual unit will show the runway when you land and are taking off.

We dont know how it could be done. My theory is to make a Periscope view in the screen and just show a forward view. But getting that all to work 'in' a PDF screen/gauge might be a real circus, and it may not work right with gauges floating above it. Visibility might be hectic.

I would sure love to do one for the new Victory.

As for the G600, I believe Milton and Scott Thomas have about made a complete set already for the Cessna Skycatcher.

Yep. Milton Shupe and his dream team were working on it. I dont know what its progress is yet.

The gauges are awesome..... AWESOME...!

The G600 looks pretty straightforward and doable, but the G1000SVT is just insane. :isadizzy:
It would effectively be a sim inside of a sim. Maybe someone could make a gauge that runs and displays FS2000. That would be the only and conceptually easiest solution I can think of right now. It would also represent the graphics of the SVT quite well.
However this concept strongly indicates "major performance hit".

The Skycatcher has the 2 screens split. Would be good if they are in one unit.

BTW, even the G600 has SVT. Take a look:

I think Bill from ES made the gauges for the Abacus one - the gauges are actually really good - too mad the model is not...imho

Thanks! I spent a lot of time trying to replicate the G600 as close as possible given the limitations of the sim's gauge system. I've created gauges for ABACUS's upcoming B787, but that won't be released (and me paid!) until the real B787's first flight...

...and I'm getting hungry! :ernae:
