Aero L-39 Albatros

1.) I haven't painted anything. It's yago's nice work. I never said anything that would make you believe otherwise. And using the words of a non-native english-speaker (and the potential for misunderstanding that this might bring with it) against me ... - well I don't like it.

2.) I simply converted the textures into a different format. So whatever you see in the shots was already there from the beginning.

3.) I've just installed the paint according to the readme using the RuAF model. Maybe that model uses those textures. I simply don't know. But again, I only used what's there in the repaint. I've not changed a single thing.

the L-39 has already been Pirated :(
have informed Lotus (Mike) via PM
and sent him the links so that he can do something against it and remove them

Support question w/ screenshot

As long as the course arrow is set to runway heading, an American HSI will accurately deviate toward the localiser even during a back course approach.

In the following shot I have tuned runway 13 ILS and am on a reciprocal heading with the runway to my left, as shown by the feather. Close to field midpoint the needle might be confused, but I am at a reasonable distance.

The needle is telling me the runway is to my right... wrong.

An American HSI also has a separate magnet (usually located in the wing in GA aircraft) that crosschecks deviation and automatically keeps the gyro-compass portion of the HSI aligned during non-acrobatic flight. I usually fly with "Gyro drift" disabled because FS9 and FSX make drift an issue with HSI's when it should not be one.

Are Russian HSI's really this different?

Thanks Tom. Yes it was pirated on day 1 sadly, by a customer who purchased it from FS Pilotshop, called Raven Harris, and it's now being sold retail in eastern europe by thieves. There's nothing I can do about this sadly. I can email Rapidshare all day, but the damage is done, it's almost pointless. I'm disgusted to say the least. But then I come back here and see all your comments and I don't feel so bad. People wonder why FS devs drop off so often and leave the industry... that's why. Unfortunately we don't have the resources and sales of EA or Namco etc and can survive that kind of thing, it hurts directly in many ways. The L-39 doesn't have draconian copy protection because I as a payware purchaser hate that kind of thing (though I certainly understand it). I believe in ownership not licensing, but that's the big drawback. If I am able to do a second project I will almost certainly have to rethink this stance to combat this problem, which is sad.

Donald I've answered your question on the support forum, and you can add pics there too. I'll look into this problem today and see what's going on. Thanks.

I wish I could buy it again just to make up for one of those douches. :angryfir:

Here's a simple black scheme from a real livery, sans the real reg. http://forum.siminsider.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=452

This little gem is just so much fun. I'm not even into military planes or jets but I can't leave my hands of it. Wonderful wonderful work. :applause:

hey yoga can you please upload this paint im realy looking forword to it thanks

Surely there must be some way of stopping piracy, is it FSD a/c that calls home upon reinstall. I know they stopped me reinstalling the Commander and refused to reissue my licence because they did not believe I was the same person - I had moved country and had different country origin e-mail etc. I was miffed about it at the time but I got over it and forgive them. :mixedsmi:

There isn't any 100% effective way to stop it I think, you can only make it more and more difficult, at the expense of upsetting paying customers, something I am loathe to do. I can only rely on the honesty of paying customers such as yourselves, and I thank you all. :)

Just to top the morning off my website's server went down, AND my lovely logitech laser mouse packed it in for no reason. Mouse replaced, web server should be back up soon.

Apparently monday came early today.... :)

Well you made another honest customer...downloading as I type :)

Should be fun!

Also, where can I download the Yago paints in this thread? I've only seen two on the SimOuthouse main pages....

Bob I found yours thanks!

Hello Mike - it`s good to read that you did`nt loss your humor :icon_lol: Hope that the most people pay for an aircraft of those quality like your L-39. In my humble opinion it is under the TOP 3 of Payware !!!!! After the first 5 Hours of flying this "Bird" i must say again - Thank you very much :applause::applause::applause:

Thank you very much Fireball. :)

Donald, I just tested out the HSI and all seems to be correct. It is certainly not as capable as a western one, no fancy electronics. Keep in mind this jet was built in 1972 hehe.

The VOR/ILS functionality is no better than a standard Garmin head, so what you're seeing is correct. It doesn't know that the runway is behind you on an ILS, only that you are left of the localizer regardless of your current heading.

Treat it as you would a 'dumb' Garmin OBS and you should be alright! :)

Thanks,

Mike

Ah, they call themselves "pirates" because it sounds glamorous - but they are just criminals and thieves. Just saw over at ORBX scenery have just had a similar problem.
Lotus, your contacts with the real Albatros - do they have some droppable ordanance they could deliver for you if you get this person's address? :pop4: :173go1:

Thanks JimJam. As for the next project, a certain cold war jet is on my shortlist of ideas, and one from this side of the iron curtain, but I can't say for sure yet until I do some testing and investigating. I can say it won't be an F-4 though. As I understand it A2A is working on one of those and I have no doubt it will be epic.

Cheers,

-Mike
Can't go wrong with a 104 - none can keep up with the Cloud 9 redition for FS9. Also, no one has done a really good F/FB-111 also.
Keep these on the burner as your work is AWESOME!
