Attention Yago

Hello,:wavey:

I am really sorry that my English is so poor because I don't know to read all the posts about the work of Yago.
But as I am SOH's member I would just mean that it is sad to know that there are problems between the members of a forum, SOH is really a Web site of one very big quality.

Not long ago that I am SOH's member but it that I can write it's that there are many artists, persons very kind and I believed to understand that there is a problem with Yago's choice to use photorealistic skins, for me I think that you are all persons with many talents and that we love the photorealistic textures or that we don't love the photorealistic textures, I don't want to accuse somebody, I don't want to be an lawman but what I know it's that Yago is capable of offering us of very beautiful skins, I know that he has still of very beautiful skins to offer us and it would be really damage or sad (sorry for my English) to lose these creations that I find very beautiful....

I don't want to create of problems on the forum because I use a software to translate what I write and I would not want created a mistake and because you think that I am against somebody ........

The only thing which I want to say it's a great thank to you for the quality of your creations, your informations and your messages.....

Best regards, Skulleader :wavey: :ernae: :icon29:
No need to apologise
i believe you have said it in better english than I

The pie of life only has so many slices, if one of those slices is talented it'll be larger than others, sad fact is that artists of any ilk have large skill slice's and small social slices and generally feel little need for them. Friend of mine cant even butter bread, yet his social skills, verbal and written are beyond exemption.

Your one or the other, cant have both I'm afraid, and lifes too short to do anything other than accept it.

Still dont follow this paint technique, i'll ponder it a bit more LOL.

Kindest

Michael

Respectfully, Michael, that's bollocks--or at the very least a gross oversimplification. I grew up around artists of all stripes and I've spent most of my life among them. I've known an awful lot of talented people, and the majority have been lovely human beings with social skills that are as well-honed as anyone in the non-creative realm.

There's no excuse for not behaving like a civilized human being, IMO. I normally try to stay out of these sorts of conversations, but I guess you hit one of my hot buttons.

Now go enjoy this... :icon29: :icon_lol:

I for one really enjoy photo-applied paint schemes. Robert Rivera did some on the Wittman Tailwind and they are exceptional. I like to see parts mapped with photos of actual parts. I think the effect is second only to the real thing. Some do not agree, and thats fine. We all have our own tastes and thats the beauty of freedom.

Could you imagine a guy walking up behind VanGogh and saying; "WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING PAINTING LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARE YOU DAFT????? THAT DOESNT DO ANYTHING FOR HOW YOU ARE TRYING TO CAPTURE THE SCENERY! YOU SHOULD PAINT LIKE ALL THE REST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU SHOULD PAINT LIKE CE'ZANNE OR MONET!!!!! MAN.....!"

If he would have listened to that critic, his style would have been lost and gone, written out of the future...

Some talented guys can have their feelings hurt when you step on them. Yep, they are human. Thats all I am saying.

Some awesome paint schemes. Keep up the great work. I for one hope to see Photo Real or 'photo-applied' work increase. Looks more.. um... 'real'. :d

And now.. Its time for tea... (or this... > :guinness: ).

No one said that though...that's why that argument and this thread are so perplexing to me.

If this was out of the blue, I may have felt differently, but so close after that hissy fit, this thread seems disingenuous. Any time someone of standing within the FS community gets their feelings hurt without fail someone else will make a new thread with a blanket apology and a little bit-o-praise. You're pandering to the guy and only perpetuating the problem.

I hope I'm not the only one who feels this way.

First what problem is being perpetuated may I ask? Second, nobody is pandering anyone here. Any of us who wish to praise the work of anyone here has the right to do so without having fingers pointed at them for doing so. I think the origin of the matter was blown way out of proportion. Lucian made a point that he was tired of getting badgered/needled about certain aspects of his work. So what if he did. His responses to that hardly constitute any form of gross misconduct whatsoever. "Some"(not all or many) people here have the propensity to nitpick things to death and to a point it would piss off the Pope! But I guess this sort of thing will continue until Yago and folks like him just leave and never come back.

Give it a rest will ya???

Well put :ernae::ernae:!

I think some people are taking their painting hobby way too seriously LOL. I mean after all it's just painting the planes for FS, nothing more. In the end all that matters is what kind of person you are and not what kind of skills you have... at least that's how it's in the real world.

This thread is on the bleeding edge of becoming negative.

Yago is my favorite painter. It doesn't matter if the actual work takes him five minutes and he's got a secret we don't have. The fact is, he's getting it done better than anyone else. ANYONE. Have any of you seen his old Alphasim repaints? If I could only get that B-52 repaint to work in FSX I'd be in heaven.

Blimey, what an earth did I ever do to you to warrant that insult ?.

It was such a nice morning this morning, until I read that, thanks for the sour taste, and I had you down as one of the nice guys, clearly you dont hold me in the same esteem that I do of you :(.

Regretfully

Michael

Reading all the threads around the "Photoreal"-Thing make me a little sad. I did a few repaints myself - miles away from those "Artists" like Yago9, BananaBob, Pierre, Gus Robatto, jeansy and a lot more guys. But I know that it is sometimes a very hard work on it. Every day I am looking around in the net, hunting new "paints" for my hangar - happy when i found some. If i like them,
nice - if not, i delete them. Not more ! I never criticize a repainter who did all his work for free - If I have to pay money for a product, than it must be allowed
to point out when something is wrong, but not on FREEWARE.

I could not understand this discussion about "photoreal" or "handpainted" or whatever - I like a repaint or not, nothing else ...........

Greetings :wavey: Dirk

I have silently followed the events regarding repaints and Yago, and I just have to say that i believe Dirk has put the hammer right on the nail.

They are doing their paints for us for free and that is a huge favour and i am eternally gratefull for them to enhance my flightsim and not charge me for it.

So accept their offer and thank them for it but leave the critisism to yourself. :jump:

Well said Bob, i have used yours and Lucians skins for some time.

You are both a credit to the Fs community.

It takes all kinds to make the world go around, we are but a few of those.

Cheers.

It's easy to pontificate about over-sensitivity and bad manners if it's not your buttons that have been pushed. We all have it in us to be rude and aggressive. Some of us need a really big push to bring it out, some of us just need to be looked at in a funny way and some of us (thankfully few) need no provocation at all. All human life is here - relax and enjoy the nice bits.

I did NOT criticize his work, just to clear that up.

I DID answer a question that YAGO himself asked. He didn't like my answer. TOUGH! Not everyone will have the same opinion! Life would be boring if everyone agreed with everyone on every topic. This is a FORUM for DISCUSSION about flight simulators and aviation related topics. Forums are for discussion. Those who can't accept peoples opinions shouldn't be on a forum. I have no problems with Yago's work. I want him to keep painting and keep being a member here. He has done a LOT for the community. I just don't like photoreal paints. I rarely download them, I never do them myself. I regularly download other peoples' paints which are art-based instead of photo-based.

I never said anything bad about his work.

As for what other people said, they can clear it up. I won't speak for anyone else.

Easy ....:kilroy:

I have read all posts several times over...

A few posts might be read a tad touchy...BUT...I feel all is well and no one member has overly pushed their hatred on others..Just stated their opinion and moved on...

Personally..I do not have the time anymore to dedicate to FSX, so I use no paints at all..But I sure do like to look at them and admire their work...:applause:

My post was not meant to anyone particular more like a general advice how to treat persons who make freeware.

In fairness, people should treat other persons exactly the same; without prejudice nor spite; regardless of whether they are freeware developers or not.

The same rules should apply to everyone, be they a payware developer, freeware developer, admiring fan or bystander.

Of course we're all ignoring the fact that there weren't actually any adverse comments made about anyone's work.

Blimey, what an earth did I ever do to you to warrant that insult ?.

Michael, I apologize if you you took my comment as an insult. I wasn't saying that I had any problem with you, just with the idea that those with talent should somehow be "given a pass" when it comes to having decent manners. My regard for you is perfectly intact, I just don't agree with that one particular notion. Hence, btw, the brewski and the smile.

This is what I get for getting all hot and bothered... all it does is lead to hurt feelings while accomplishing nothing. I'm sorry to say I'm not immune from the occasional incendiary comment, but I'll try to keep a lid on 'em in the future. Just for good measure, here's another:

:icon29:

Let me know when you'd like a refill.

I will go on record here and state that I respect all sim works..Be it top shelf or bottom shelf..

I still feel there is a need for high dollar and low dollar purchases, and freeware.....

Each to his own.....

And I tent to agree knowing many artists and musicians, then tend to be cut from different cloth.....LOL But I still love them....:ernae:

A lot of the hub-bub seems to have stemmed from Kiwikat's and my posts.

WE never said anything bad about Yago's skills as a painter. Ever!

I only commented on his way of interacting with others. I don't care what you do for fun, it is not right to constantly attack people. That is what it was all about. Nothing more. Once again, nothing to do with photoreal anything. abuse

I also think he has great skills at what he does and for those that will miss his paints I will say I'm sorry for that. For those that agreed with me in PM that we should not have to tollerate abuse you are welcome. I will comment no further other than to state again, this had nothing to do with FS developing, artistic talent or anything of that nature. It is only about his constantly abusive behavior.

Rob
