Aero L-39 Albatros

James, if you're reading this, would you care to carrier-enable one of the L-39s? Some of you are wondering, "Why, why, why?" For me, the answer is a not-very-intellectual "I like flying this plane and I like flying on and off of carriers."

Me too, Mr. David "DSWO" :wiggle:
And... it's already done: ( [Click Here] --> ) Aircraft AI Carrier Configurations v1.5 by James F. Chams
I flew it last night :gameon:on both AI boats (in your Carrier 1 & 2 packages) and it was amazing... :jump::jump::jump:
Now you can Enjoy it, too! :wavey:

Hahaha, I knew this was coming at some point. In reality I think the carrier's catapult would simply become a makeshift nose gear ballista. "Cool, we fired the nosewheel 400 meters! Push that bipedal L-39 off the side, and lets get another one!" :)

Nevertheless it must be no fun for a superb designer like Lotus to see your plane getting raped by some 3rd party 'designers'.
SOH is one of the very few flightsim sites where the pilots are looking for ultimate realism.

Mr. Mike "Lotus,"

It all in good fun... so, don't feel too bad. FSX is all about the "play", anyway, and your new latest achievement is our best "toy" in the box (for now at least). :mixedsmi:

BTW: Could you kindly share you Collimated HUD/Landing Light "FIX/Secret" to the rest of the FS Developer world (for a FEE or for FREE) so, that they could get that part right? (For Aerosoft's F-16C and IRIS' F-16D at least).

Thanks!

FS Ultimate-realism? ???

..... for the rest of you'll "abused children" from 3rd party FS developers. (i.e. the "Michael Jacksons" :173go1:)

L-39ZA Black 2433, Czech Republic
Pardubice Air Base, 2006

After the split of Czechkoslovakia in two specific countries, the Czech Air force retained around 18 x L-39C/ZA.

These eighteen L-39 were operated by the 341.VLt at Pardubice when the unit disbanded in early 2003 of which eight were refurbished with new fuselages in the late 90's and are now wearing a new two tone grey color scheme like "Grey 5501" already offered by Lotus Simulations.

The other L-39's like "2433 / 33" are still wearing full color national markings and the original two tone green camo scheme also worned by the Slovakia Air Force airframes.

Some aircraft were transferred to 4.zTL at Cáslav and 32.zTL at Námešt nad Oslavou. Today the entire "Greys and Greens" L-39 Czech fleet is operated by the Air Training Center at Pardubice.

Czech L-39 Pilots are now wearing the US made Hgu-55 helmet, a rarity among east european countries of the now defunct Warsaw pact.

Repaint from Guy LeVasseur alias "VaporZ" available here :

Aerodynamic braking by "tail draging" is part of the L-39 training
syllabus.

L-39C White 831

Bulgarian Air Force, Graf Igniatiavo Air Base, 1989

Repaint from Guy LeVasseur alias "VaporZ" / glevass21@globetrotter.net

National Bulgarian Star ( 1986-1991 ) on L-39 Fin, Aft Fuselage and Underwings. No Upperwings markings.

36 x L-39 were delivered to Bulgaria between 1986 and 1990 for use as advanced weapons trainers.
Two third of this force is no longer operational with the BVVS, having been sold off mainly to the private Us market.

However 12 L-39 are still current, having been upgraded in order to extend there service to another two decades.

From 1949 to 1991 Bulgarian Military Aircraft were under the "Warsaw Pact" alliance and a smaller Bulgarian roundel was then superimposed over a soviet type red star as National markings.

The Bulgarian national roundel without star have been adopted in 1992.

Official statement from Vaporz

I made a big mistake before putting my 9 x L-39's repaints available for free download and presenting them on this thread.

most of you have already recognised on my free repaints the excellent work made by Lucian Lie alias Yago9 for the pilots wearing the Us made
Hgu-55 helmet and detailed ejection seat headrests.

I sincerly apologise to Yago9 not to have ask him the permission and not having mentionned the use of its works and my thanks to him.

Due to this reason my repaints are actually no longer available to free
download on my Mediafire.com address.

These repaints mostly covering East European and Central Asia Air Arms
L-39's, It is my intention to modified them with a more appropriate Russian type helmet before putting them back available for free download.

My intention is :

1.
to ask Yago9 the approval to use its Russian made GZH-7AP Helmet
for these repaints. ( like the one used on its Ukraine Air Force L-39 )

2.
modified my repaints file with it.

3.
modified all my "Read Me First" text, fully crediting ( and thanking )
Yago9 for the usage of its artwork for pilot/Helmet and ejection seat file.

4.
put the files back available for free download to everyone.

Yago9 being a gentleman I am quite sure he will gave me its "Green Flag".

Again, Yago9,
My apologies for this situation.

Thanks Skulleader

I have the OK from Yago9 !

My repaints will be back available next morning for free downlaod with all modifications, credits and the more realistic current Russian Zhs-7AP helmet.

Can I have your approval for using your "topaze" color cockpit ?

If yes, you will also have, like Yago9, full credit mention for your specific artwork.

By the way, Russian and Central Asia L-39/Su-25 pilots have a specific
"fashion" with the Zhs-7AP helmet.

They are all wearing a "Russian camo" flight vest over the Russian Military
white/blue horizontal striped "Telnyashka" T-Shirt.

I will began to work on this pilot fashion for a future update.
