Well, I bought it... Tom Clancy's HAWX.

Lionheart

Hey guys,

Yep, I got it. It was $29.00 at Fried Electronics yesterday. I broke down.

Interesting sim or game. I think its more of a game. A jet fighter with 40 rockets isnt 'extremely' realistic, but dang its fun. If you are needing to vent, you can blow up so much stuff, it isnt funny. wooo hooooooo!!!!

Bad terrorists... BAD BAD BAD terrorists... lol

Very well done terrain and cities.

I have it as well, the online shoot'em up competitions are hilarious and fast-paced!

Just remember, its a game. Nothing realistic. If you want a game, its awesome awesome..

Alot of the graphics reminded me of the Call of Duty; Modern Combat. The screens and sounds and setup views are very similar.

Well done game.

Talk about 'un-relaxing', lol.. Raises my blood pressure. Trying to shoot down all the enemy fighters, ground tanks, etc... Things just keep coming at you.. CRAZY!!!!

:d

Things to know;
* No VC
* No fuel levels, etc
* Very odd null zone in the joystick (radical movements only)
* No landings and things like that; always starts in a flight

Hi Bill, I like it. I brought it when it first came out and it is a fast game. I also brought a flight stick control for the Sony3 playstation.To me it doesn't fly like a jet but if you are into blowing chet up this is for you...lol. I do like the part where you can lock onto the target with a missile and watch the full hit.

Not to mention that it lets you fly SR-71 ( the fighter variant that never was made), Saab Draken etc.. it's bit like a Gran Turismo of arcade combat flight sims.

Yep! The shots are spectacular, the trail from the missle, cool explosions. Some fighters get hit and do not break apart, but streak down with the back half of their craft on fire. The scenery is nice too.. Great clouds in the background, photo real terrain below. Enemy fighters falling out of the sky everywhere! woo hoooo!

Really takes care of the frustrations. :d

Last night, I flew a mission in the F16. Four missle locks at once, 4 kills at a time. Nice!!

Got to test a beta of HAWX during last year's Games Convaention at the Thrustmaster booth.

The company representative there was pretty impressed with my flying, since I didn't need HAWK's fancy auto-aiming-or-evasion-or-whatever-this-is-for system. :d

I've also been keep my eye on it around town, but reviews for have put me off from it. I'm a Ace Combat person, Have all but the PSP. I have a few other arcade combat flight sims for home console, I could never get into them.

I may just wait for used copy of HAWX to hit the cheap been at game stop or something.:kilroy:

Gdavis, they're 2 different beasts completely i'm a huge Ace combat nut, HAWX is more of a arcade style of gameplay whereas AC is a bit more free, if you know what i mean, i'm the nutter whos working on ace combat skins for hawx, and will no doubt get my backside chewed by both supporter groups :icon_lol:

I have Ace Combat 6 and I think that is why I have really held off buying Hawx.

Sounds like me. But I'm the nut that spen $400 xbox 360 elite used, with 5 games that at the time would have cost me another $150 if I had to buy it all new. Just so I could play Ace Combat 6.

craigslist... Some time I think it could be my down fall, Or at least my back account's. After all it's got me a Wii,PS2 and 360.
