A return to bachelorhood again....

Today, I am officially a bachelor again. It was an amicable procedure, signing the papers at the courthouse this morning though. My ex and I went for lunch afterwards. Definitely a difference from the type of divorce I have previously experienced. Night and day difference, to be more specific.

Anyway, even though we've been separated for about 4 months now, it feels sorta strange; but a good strange!

Congratulations....

Officially... Welcome to the club... you are now a legitimate single... :icon_lol: :ernae:

congratulations! :applause:

it's now pretty much a requirement that you do one of the following:

A) join an online dating service and lie about your age, body type, likes and dislikes, and your job/financial status. (always say you like long walks on the beach, sunsets, and looks are not important)

B) seek out mail-order brides from 3rd world countries

C) be seen by your ex's friends with a 21 yr old blonde name either barbi, or toni, or kelli (the name HAS to end with an i) and when you introduce them as your friend, be sure to either wiggle your eyebrows when you say the word friend, or make those quotation marks with your fingers.

Already did #1 several weeks ago. #2 isn't going to happen, but I would love for #3 to happen!

Congrats NC.....my divorce was very amicable too and we remained friends throughout the entire process even to the point of telling our respective lawyers to STFU and just shuffle the papers when they tried to stir up our arrangements. I didn't even have to appear in court, there were no payments for me (other than paying the legal shark off) and the entire process was over in about 8 months.

Congrats, NC, and welcome to the club. People who are mature and respect each other are perfectly capable of an amicable divorce. Frequently, it's just what the doctor ordered for both !

Be careful out there NC,

If you are really serious for another relationship, it will just come up to you, without even looking for it!

Just my point of view. And they say the second time around is always sweeter the first one. Well in your case... the 7th one is sweeter than the 6th... Oooops...:isadizzy:

Actually, I am not looking for another serious relationship. Nope. But I don't want to simply stay at home, either!

By the time we got to court on my first marriage, we both just wanted out so we did a no lawyers with everything agreed upon beforehand divorce. The judge gave me a heck of a scare when he went down my side of the list offering it all to her, but she stuck to our agreement and it ended good. I did end up a few years later taking her back to court to get custody of the two youngest kids (I won), but the actual divorce was painless outside of the judge.

I met the current Mrs Willy a few years after the divorce on a trip to Tennessee with a friend. Ended up moving up here.

NC~

Glad things went smoothly for you and Cat! I'm sure in a way it's a relief....I'm confident you two will find a way to keep in touch and remain friends.
Best of Luck to you~

PS- I can't remember who told me this...but...I hear...Canadian women are pretty good...well..pretty good at everything!! Might want to give it a shot

:canada: and, I just might be a weeeee bit biased! :wiggle:

Sounds fine to me, but right now they'd have to be transplants to TN from Canada! The farthest I'll be headed anytime soon will be to Indianapolis for a few days, to help my sister relocate her business.

Thanks for the kind words!

Pete

Although I've lived in other countries and known various nationalities, I've only known three Canadian women as friends/coworkers.

Now that I think of it - all three would have been very acceptable candidates as partners.

C9G: Thanks - I was hoping it wouldn't be take offensively.

LOL!! Toasty, 10 brownie points for you!! I even put your quote in bold! :173go1:

I always thought being a goalie for high level hockey would have given me a foot in the door with some of the Canadian ladies I have come across. But sadly missing all your front teeth is what is appealing I guess lol.

NC its weird to say it but congrats to you. Its good when a relationship ends and both parties can still maintain a friendship.

Awwwwwww!!! My dad was big into hockey and my brother is a hockey player. I grew up watching "La Soirée du Hockey à Radio-Canada", every Saturday night. Such the rivalry between the Nordics and the Canadians.

Anyways, your post about missing your front teeth made me laugh...thanks for sharing!

Umm NC? I am highjacking your thread aren't I?
