Coffee: The life blood of the US Navy....

I've cut myself down to 12 cups a day. Gotta watch out at my age. It gets me excited and yes, I do wash my cup, once a month. It get so built up it won't hold as much coffee in it. Then the first two cups taste kinda soapy.

Geez, if I drink more than two cups a day, I am bouncing off walls! 12 cups? Ooh, that would be dangerous to me.

Even decaf coffee (which DOES have some caffeine in it) gets me hyped up.

But I gotta have the two cups in the morning...........

I started drinking coffee as a kid down on the family farm at breakfast. But it hit full swing when I joined the Navy. Yall Airdales don't have a monopoly on the coffee messes. Down in the engine rooms, don't much get done without it. When making sure that everything is correct for getting relieved off of watch in Main Control, one item is make sure there's a pot of coffee for the oncoming watch.

We used to tell everyone that we seasoned a pot of coffee with a touch of diesel fuel for that special engine room flavor ;) :d

Having been in the Corp I have had some coffee. I understand that Navy coffee has a bit of salt to "smooth" it out a bit.
Love my coffee.

Actually ya don't have to be Navy to do coffee ...

Like mine Black ... no other stuff please.

If you take coffee and cigarettes away from any serviceman, you may as well remove him or her from service. They are sustenance in the military, bloody food man.

Coffee, what's that? Tried it a few times though, but I just can't stand it. My ex wife used to start the day with the coffee brewing and it stunk up the whole house, LOL. I am a morning person and pretty lively as well and I always love when people ask me how much coffee I had before work and I tell them I don't do coffee,....... the looks on their faces :jump:

It'd be nice to have such energy! I guess I just need a little "oomph" from caffeine. Thank goodness it's legal, eh? Oops, I shouldn't have said that. It will probably be the next drug to be taxed............

Not until they pull the mug from my dead hands !

I'll second that, Helldiver. I'll die clutching my terribly stained coffee cup... I'm useless without caffeine......:isadizzy:

Went in for one of them blood tests where they make you fast meaning no F''''' coffee first thing my whole day was pretty much shot no matter how much I had after that. My wife and I both enjoy strong coffee, pot in the morning pot in the afternoon, and none of that restaurant brownish watery stuff where you can see the bottom of the cup, SeaBee coffee is like wine you gotta let it age a little to get the most from it

With so much consumption around the globe, I wonder why coffee hasn't caused any wars yet...

I drink only one, 32 ounce mug of coffee per day. Even with so little, I'm still up at 2am, and 4am getting rid of it... :wavey:
