Yeah, widescreen!

I finally sent my 17" Samsung LCD into retirement and got myself a brand new 22" Iiyama.

Awesome thing!

So here's FSX in its new 1680*1050px glory!

Of course, these are all thumbnails (click to enlarge). I don't want to destroy the thread layout...

Yeah, the Cv-580 is a portover. But the Victoria scenery is native...and demanding on the 'puter.

Would it be unkind of me to say you should see how it looks in 23" 1920x1080? :d

Still, congrats. :ernae:

Congrats man!! I remember getting my 24 inch widescreen and going from my old 19 inch CRT to that one was just amazing, can't imagine going back to anything less now.:ernae:

Get ready to get another one. I thought that when I got a 22'' monitor I was in heaven and it couldn't get any better. Then one day I got an email from NewEgg about a sale on a 26'' monitor and I was all over it. I now enjoy everything at 1920 x 1200. Hmm......those 30 something inch monitors are catching my eye now:icon_lol:

I'd love to run something larger than my 22 inch samsung, but I simply don't have room on my desk... :mixedsmi:

I deliberately didn't consider any bigger, since I want my GTX275 to hold its ground a little longer than for three to four game releases. ;)

I 1680*1050 I can at least still run very demanding shooters with Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering enabled.

Its a great feeling, isnt it?

Surely is. Finally it all...fitts together somehow. Quad Core, suitable video card and a suitable screen. Awesome.

ummm... Matrox triplehead2go and three 24" 1980 x 1024's... I'd love that.

But my desk is full of one 24" Asus and a 19" Benq and I can't afford the triplehead yet...

The 24" is great for painting! No turning back now. 200 of the best invested Euros...

Congrats on your new screen. It's great to have a larger sharper view. Recently purchased a 23 inch and the experience is wonderful.

I have the 28" HANNS G that Txnet told us about a few months ago. It's 1920 X 1200 flanked by two LG 22" monitors 1680 X 1050. I run the main screen off an ATI 4870 and the other two screens off a matched 4870. The video cards are independent. When I'm designing, the main GMAX/3dsMax screen is in in the middle, the track view and current material boxes are on the left screen and the command panel and material library are on the right screen. It's great.

That 28" Hanns G is hard to beat price/performance wise, Jim. That is one of the monitors I test game software with at TechCorp using two MSI Lightning Black Edition GTX 260s in SLI. It renders such a beautiful pic so quickly and we bought them new at $325.00. Now you can get them for $250.00 at certain times. It has become one of the favorites here at TechCorp. FSX looks so hot at 1920x1200.

Any way it sure makes a difference when you move from 17" to 22" so congrats Bjoern.

Thanks again guys!

My old Samsung now graces my mom's desk while I've just revived my old PC with her old 15" LCD for my younger brother. So of course this means that I have a bit more hardware avaiable than this Thinkpad T60 everytime I'm at my parents'...and my old FS9 installation. :engel016::ernae: :d

Enjoy your new screen and get some adventure at the same time........go to the Amazon!!!!!...that river sure looks great in 22".......:applause::applause:

Cool! I'm still stuck on a 5:4 19"

It's decent and I play a lot of really old games (Age of Empires anyone?) and I think WS would screw them up.

Heh, nice try Gera. :d

Maybe when I'm in the mkood for adventures again. For now I'm more hooked on Rocky mountain runs with the Cv-580. It's such a nice plane. Not too simple, not too demanding...just right.

A 19" screen was a long time wish of mine since it offers a bigger screen size while retaining the same resolution as a 17" screen.
