Thats one of the things I was wondering, that if the 5870 had the power to run FSX at that res. Is it playable?
Looks like there's still tweaking to be done. The textures are pretty blurry. I'd suggest increasing your LOD RADIUS to like 6.5 or maybe even 8

The HD5850s tested faster than the GTX285s at high resolution in our labs, and rendered a better picture clarity and quality.
Too bad, you're missing out on a lot. Crank the autogen up, extend the LOD radius and you'll be in FSX heaven.Looks great to me on the fly so probably won't tweak a thing.:ernae:
Yea, cause the blurries I see in those pics aren't from image compression or AA8, they're very recognizable by anyone afflicted with the dreaded blurries. It wouldn't hurt to try the LOD change suggested.. . . . .Too bad, you're missing out on a lot. Crank the autogen up, extend the LOD radius and you'll be in FSX heaven.
TXNetCop, not sure where you're hearing GTX300 rumors, but the Tesla chips aren't out in the wild at all yet. As i understand it, the number of existing cards is still in the double digits -- it's a 2010 product, and they only got the first chips taped out a couple of months ago.
So yeah, the drivers would be pretty raw at this point.![]()
Hey Ted, any chance you could "accidentally" lose one and ship it to me? lol! That gtx260 you recommended is working out fine, thank you very much.:ernae:
