Performance of newest Safari browser over Opera

Lionheart

SOH-CM-2014
Hey guys,

Man. I have been having nothing but problems with Opera lately since updating a few weeks ago. Sometimes 20 crashes a day.

Yesterday, after losing a long written business email due to a CTD crash in Opera, I decided to revert back to Safari for now till Opera can sort things out.

Well... Man, I am glad I did. I didnt realize I had the new version of Safari with alot of new enhancements. You can clearly see that its tons faster with things just 'blinking' up instead of slowly loading up. Whats also cool is that the same shortcut keys that Opera has, are also in Safari. There is also a cool popup window menu screen that looks 3D that you can select webpages from. Similar (also) to Opera.

So............. If you are having issues also with your Opera crashing, you might try out Safari. Road test it. See what you think.

Hey Bill,

I had the same issue with Opera, I was using the older version. It was ok, I did not have a problem with it 'till a few days ago, I upgraded to Snow Leopard. My old version Opera would crash on me like 20 times an hour.... I was so frustrated, I would blame it on to Snow. I went to talk to the Apple rep and this is what he advised me to do...:bump:

Opera10 works well with Snow.... So after I upgraded my older Opera to Opera10; Opera and I are best of friends again.... :applause:

I have Safari4 and I am very happy with that as well, I use my pages to switch to Opera to Safari, especially when Hannah wants to use my Mac (instead of her Dell)....

I don't have any issues with Opera10, at all.... :engel016:

I have used safari and I like it,I use firefox now just because it works better for me and the kind of work I do on the internet. That screen shot is very cool,Vista will do something like that if you hit the small icon in the taskbar shown here(little white arrow).Waiting for windows 7 to arrive.:d

I think we can all agree IE is crap.

I am pretty impressed with Safari. I didnt like it at first. Its had 2 changes since I have tried it and now its pretty darn exotic, (by my standards). I can definately see the speed and the controls are advanced and more common sense.

I do remember that about vista. One of the things I did like about it, but can certainly live without as some of its other quirks just got under my skin and I couldnt deal with it anymore... 'Nie wieder.... '

Tested Opera on Windows a while back. Missed some fuctions.
Tested Safari on Windows a while back. Found it too bloaty...just like ITunes.
Tested IE on Windows a while back. Used it to download Firefox.

IE8 99.9% of the time here (with Firefox the remaining 0.1%). Win VISTA Ultimate and IE 8 have been very very good to me. :applause: Will probably upgrade to Win 7 sometime down the road though, as it seems to be too tempting to resist.
