Think driving on an ice road is dangerous? Try landing on one!

"ICE PILOTS NWT premieres November 18 at 10 pm ET/PT on History Television. Renegade Arctic airline Buffalo Airways defies the freezing cold and the competition by using resilient WWII-era propeller planes to fly vital fuel, supplies and passengers to remote outposts all over the Canadian North. Rookie pilots with nerves of steel come from across the country to Yellowknife to receive training from the very best and for the chance to earn their wings flying powerful vintage planes originally built for war. From landing essential cargo onto airstrips at mine sites to carving out runways on frozen lakes and rocky tundra, the Ice Pilots do it all, despite frequent blizzards and breakdowns."

Joe? It's his way or the highway...

So far I haven't seen it on the lineup for the US version of the History Channel. I do hope it makes it down here though.

I did send an email to my brother-in-law's nephew up in SK to try and record them for me...hope the show is worth his time n trouble. In other words, not another over-dramatic soap opera like Ice Road Truckers or Axe men!

They have a C-46 Curtiss Commando! It flew the hump! :icon_lol:
I've always loved the look. I know some don't.

I love waking up every morning and going to work at YZF and hearing the roar of them classics. It's great to see them in action and operating these beautiful beasts of History.
