• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I know there are a lot of Vets here on the SOH forums,I'd like to say from myself and my family, Thank You for your service, and securing our freedom.

I remembered, I will never forget them, even though I never met them. They died before I was born. Too many, far too many and still they die.

Thank you to all veterans and those currently serving in our Armed Forces at home and abroad. May God bless America always. :USA-flag:

This also includes other nations around the world who honor this day in various forms, such as Armistice Day and Remembrance Day. May their sacrifices also be appreciated and honored.

For all those who serve and have served...thank you. We live better because of you ! There's a great video on the Military Channel stating that.

Huzzahs to all !:medals:

My thanks too to ALL Vets, young and old, past and present, men and women.

I feel rather guilty for getting thanked for doing something I considered and honor and mostly a joy.

I give thinks to my God and my country for giving me the opportunity to fly and serve.

Thank you SOH's also, for remembering us.

November 11, 1984

I remember standing in a wet, cold. foggy field at Camp Borden, where so many of the brave lads who fought in the World Wars had trained. As we were standing there in the same soggy trenchcoats they wore and heard the same orders barked, the lone bugler played Last Post and every hair on my body stood on end. I swear I could hear the ghosts of those lads. The piper started to play Amazing Grace after that and the tune brought me back around but as I looked at my fellow NCO's I could sense that many of them also heard the 'ghosts'. It was a very intense feeling yet very comforting, and I shall never forget it.

Just some thoughts...

I miss when our company had the ambulance contract with the VA. Every time we transported someone I felt I was able to make their day a little better. And the stories were great.

Some of my partners are over there now. Give'em Hell!

Even the ones I knew who came back messed up had my thanks.

Say what you want, they earned that privelege
for you, but I think there are none better.
