A private airstrip in East Haddam, Ct. You can see how far off the rwy was in the default, also about 150m shorter and 45m wider, lol.

The flatten is in place, rwy corrected and the Annotator is at work planting trees. Two or three buildings, a few odd tweaks and additions and it'll be good to go. Maybe another destination out of Plum Island?

Falcon, I have to say that I too am impressed with how you were able to blend the photo-tile with the surrounding default textures so well. Very cool, and as always, I enjoy viewing your work on these airfields.

Nice work Ed, would have loved the golf course nearby as well

LOL, I hear ya Ed. I get carried away sometimes trying to include as much around the airport as possible and then go to edit/make the blend and realize my texture is over 300 MB, DOH!

Thanks Bomber. The blends I use are done with a Gaussian Blur of about 16 and that seems to let it melt into the default pretty well. The other thing that helps, and I can't always get exactly right, is the coloring in the photo as opposed to the default colors. This one just happened to come pretty close to begin with and a little auto color adjustment and it almost was perfect.

Maybe just a touch of yellow in your photo would bring it almost perfectly in balance with the surrounding, Ed. What program do you use for color-correcting?

I use Paint Shop Pro Bill and you're right, that's probably what it needs. . .just a touch.

Ok, last shots. I had planned to fly up to Plum Island, but it was later than I thought so I just did a circuit and got some shots. Plum is about 105nm from this airport, but you can see from one of the shots that once you're airborne, the eastern coastline isn't far, then a straight shot up the coast.

Thank you very much Falcon! I will have to try it out first chance I get. I like it in the fact that it will get me to fly between two points for a change, rather than hang out around a single airfield, though it looks like I will have to switch to something a bit lighter weight than I am used to. ;)

Great Bomber. Actually, it's in a good location for flights down the east coast to NY, Jersey and Pennsylvania or back north to Cape Code, the outer Islands and up to Plum Island.

Hi, thanks for this little airport, very nice for light GA. I have a few trees in the middle of the runway, is this correct? Or did I miss something during installation?

Thanks!

Nope, you didn't miss anything. I can send you a revised "agn" file to replace that one. Since this is autogen, it appears that depending on what your settings are, you'll have more or less trees. Also, different seasons produce different tree sets, so that tree in the fall may not even be there, or in winter there could be more.

I had to remove several blocks of trees at that end of the rwy prior to releasing this because they were all over the rwy. I looked at the annotator and I didn't have any vegetation generated for that area, yet there they were. Ranger Creek was even worse. I had both sides of the rwy lined with trees, but completely off the rwy. In the winter, there were trees right in the middle of the rwy. . .summer, nothing. And by the way, I have my autogen settings at max.

Also, besides the default autogen settings, there are also a number of different tweaks that can be done individually, for each persons system that will also adjust what I see. So all I can do Is send you an "agn" file with those trees removed, but remember that other seasons could give you problems in other areas.
