23" LCD Monitor?

Nice but get it from some where else, if you'd have to return it you won't get stuck with a big restocking charge. I won't buy nothing from BB because of that.

I have one in my shop now that is hooked to a customers rig I just built..Its his monitor, and so far so good...

Not a bad choice..BUT..You will want powered speakers eventually..

Thanks Red. I'm with you... I don't like BB one bit either. I do wish Circuit City and CompUSA were still around, they were much better to deal with.

And thanks HM, glad to hear it's not a bad monitor. And I already have surround sound to use with it.

GT,....you might want to check out the various Samsung models.
Hard to beat their quality,...of course,...more money too.

I would personally want to see something less than 5ms response time.

2ms preferred

3ms would be OK too but lower is better.

Yup, a co-worker just bought one of those 23" Hannspree monitors from BB a couple weeks ago. Aside from a slow refresh rate compared to some other monitors out there these days it's a nice unit. Seems to have pretty decent color representation.

I've got a Samsung Syncmaster2333 23" for a few months now. I like it better than that Hanspree model...it's a little faster for gaming and has super color representation (important for digital photography). Cost about $229 on sale so yeah, it's a little higher price. I've always had good luck with Samsung LCDs too.

I'm running an Image Quest Hyundai L90D 19" LCD monitor right now with a refresh rate of 8ms and I've had no problems with any games... and this monitor is almost 5 years old. I don't think 5ms would be all that bad. But that's only my

.

Hey, if I get it as a present I ain't gonna complain. ;)

FWIW I have an LG, more than happy with and it runs 1680x1050 at 95H.
Makes a big difference when 'flying'.
:kilroy:

Gave the wife my Dell 19in LCD and went back to a 19in CRT with touchscreen.

Touchscreen eh?

I've been eyeballing some of those touchscreen units for a while...never took it real seriously since I'm not a big glass cockpit flyer and I haven't seen the advantages offsetting the cost.

I'm finally getting some experience with RSView Studio at work and have done a couple of aircraft cockpit looking HMI screens for one of our PLC training units (just a bunch of spare parts leftover from the fire last fall).
Would be a neat rig to set up one of them as a G1000 type display unit...way too pricey though (like darn near the cost of a real G1000).
