Microsoft Flight Simulator - The Essential Guide

SOH-CM-2024
Yesterday I browsed through this magazine, in my local newsagents, and thought that it would make ideal reading for someone new to the world of flightsim. I didn't purchase myself, as it's a special issue from PC Pilot, and most of the content is covered in it's parent mag, to which I subscribe.

"This PC Pilot special features a collection of tutorials, articles and features to create the definitive and must-have guide to Microsoft's Flight Simulator. Whether you're new to the hobby or a seasoned flight sim veteran, this 100-page high quality volume is essential reading for all users!"

i'd be willing to bet an ice cream that you won't learn anything from that magazine that hasn't been posted right here at the outhouse in the last 6 or 8 months. might be just me, but i'm no fan of pc pilot. especially once you add the 15% in taxes to the already absurd price charged for it here vs. the states.

True. But that's why I said "ideal reading for someone new to the world of flightsim". Obviously this mag, is going to be more expensive for you guys outside of the UK, but it still might be worth it, especially if you know someone who really hasn't a clue about the hobby.

Thanks for the heads up ArrowMaker,

Looks like good reading.

Great refresher.

It is a bit pricey, but I always consider it worth the cost.

I think it is at least 16 bucks here in Canada. But, all mags seem to have really shot up in price over the last few years. Jeez, I have bought a few really good hard covered books on planes for less.

But we Irish can't carry SOH to the toilet, aka The Irish Reading Room. :icon_lol:

I prefer PC Pilot to Computer Pilot as it's a lot less biased to the big advertisers. For those who haven't discovered the multitude of FS forums and downloads it's also a start into freeware a/c - the CD making the difference.

So sad that the Irish have to cope with third-world facilities... but one day they may move up to the modern version-----------:icon_lol:
