Have you noticed this? Zivko Edge 540

Does anyone perhaps have a guide to performing different aerobatic maneouvres? This seems pretty capable of doing most things you'd be able to do in the real aircraft - and I'd certainly want to try things like tumbles and lomchevaks.
 
lomcevak easy enough :

Flying a Lomcevak will vary in technique from aeroplane to aeroplane and pilot to pilot. This is probably the most common technique described for a clockwise rotating engine.
Pitch up to the 45, simultaneously roll to the left with aileron and kick in full left rudder, then shove the stick full forward. The aeroplane should do about two full rotations before running out of energy. Neutralise all controls and the aircraft will recover with the nose down. Fly out of it and correct accordingly. It may be necessary to reduce the power when recovering in certain instances.
This is generally the same technique used for a knife edge spin (up or down).

did you know that it is not in the Aresti Catalogue and therefore isn't a valid competition manouver...
 
I asked from real aerobatic pilot how tumble can be done and he answered like this.

"How tumble can be done?"

and answer

The simple answer: Yaw Left and Push. However, there is a lot of finesse to get it right.

The pitch stability of the airplane would normaly prevent it from tumbling like this. The secret is to get the airplane flying "sideways" so the oncoming air does not inhibit the forward tumble.

You start by yawing left to produce about 30 degrees of sideslip. Then you push forward which produces a gyroscopic reaction that yaws the airplane even more. Once yawed, the airplane can tumble freely.

one of my favourite videos! remember If the maneuver is rotating at the CG in pitch with no roll or yaw, it's a Lomcevak.
 
Smoothie, After seeing some photos of real Edge 540 panels, I am inclined to believe Tony is close on the money with the carbon fiber. The only thing I dislike is that it is not very resolute and the yellowish gold appearance would look more like the real carbon fiber with a silverish look..

I took Tony's default carbon texture into Photoshop by way of Martin's DXTBitmap, enlarged it to 512 X 5412 and sharpened the image, then adjusted the colors to match those in the photo of the actual panel of a 540T.

I did this for the FS9 version also and both are attached in the zip below. Read the Read Me for Installation instructions. FSX is a snap, but it is more involved for FS9.

BTW, I did a perfect Cobra today in this little animal this evening, it is perfect! :ernae:

Whoo, I really enjoy that beast, just managed to take up energy, pull up, do a single upwards knife edge spin, resuming to straight up motion, pull a hammerhead, do a single downwards knife edge spin, go back into level, pull up 45° and a double lomcevak.... Looks great with smoke!
 
she's definately my online demo plane this year... just finalising my scheme and getting my pilot sponsors :jump: then it's onto finalising my display routine, already logged close to 150 hours in sim with her, i repaint it then taking shots on the ground i just feel compelled to hit ctrl+e, and give her another fly, not been this addicted to an FS aircraft since the old DSB/IRIS Hawks...

edit... remember the Edge 540 uses a Modified Lycoming O-540, same as whats in the Christen Eagle, Extra 300 and some CAP-232's, so if you have the IRIS Christen Eagle she can sound a whole heap better...
 
And if you have CE pack, use same smoke effects! Looks alot cooler :jump:

That's not quite right, I would be shocked if that produced a tumble; but you might get lucky at a really low speed after a few snaps.

The other description by anatolpapov above is spot on.
 
it depends on aircraft, in sim sometimes the rudder just doesn't cut the mustard and you have to induce that rolling motion, others it has the right ability to do it...

my fsx just don't like me, only way to record my display is to completely minimise all sliders... other method is i could fsrecorder it then give y'all the recorder file so you can all see a demo...
