P-40 drop tank for DOA...

To all,

If someone wouldn't mind, the only issue I have with the FDG2 P-40e is the lack of a drop tank. Could someone please make an alteration that would allow for the carrying of a US 52 gallon drop tank?

I'm hoping to use this: http://www.simviation.com/cfs2missions1.htm

(2nd item on the page)

Any help would be appreciated!

I think I got it as close as it's gonna get. :jump:

I also learned a bit o' .dp editing in the process.

Now I can escort bombers to Lae!

I have an E model I don't think I ever released. Needs a few little tweaks, as you may of noticed the RAF pilot is a little low in the saddle.

Hi yah Leroy ,,, nice model E you got there ,, The B version gave fits to the old 98 Sec wee computor ,, but I wasn,t about to give up on it ,, Strangly it worked flawless on Xp pro ,,, The usual reduce the pixcel size on VC mode was no help and the stutters were worse than the Keystone cops from the twenties ,,, I was beginning to think it wasn,t multi-load ,,,

Single plane was constantly dropping to 8 and 9 FPS on a cyclic repitition ,,,, If the Vc was left in ,,, After changes I get smooth as glass and 22--to 24 FPS ,,, Nice plane she is !!!

Not sure if you supplied Talon with the sound files or not ,,, but his down load is missing the CFG for em ,,,, and I,ll be damed if I,m gona go cruisen over Pearl Harbour with Zero sound files ,,, That be pure sacrilidge !!!

Oh and guy,s you may want to change the fuel selector ,, not fun ,, running out of gas when tank 2 -- researve still has 61 gallons in it ,,,

Sorry for the delay but I missed your post. :sleep:

I'm unaware of any issues with the VC, although I haven't seen the P-40B for a few years and I've only just recently found my CFS2 disks after they went MIA. :jump::jump: Strangely enough though the B model I have isn't the same as the one that was released. :d

My E version will be a vast improvement over the B model as I've designed a 2d cockpit, gauges, weapons pack etc.. I spent a long time tweaking the airfile and it's now a rather enjoyable plane to fly.
