To all,

I would highly recommend for those who use Mozilla Firefox as their web browser that they DO NOT under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES install the 3.5.7 update. I got a Trojan dropper somehow running it.

This has multiple problems, including trojan windows and it "hangs up" in the background after exiting Firefox.

I'm going to have to go a complete system reboot because of it. I have everything backed up, including all of my CFS2 projects, so don't worry. I may be back on later tonight if all goes well.

I didn't have many problems with the 3.53 or 3.55 versions.

I'll keep that in mind. I'm running FF3.7 but with privacy browsing always on and no script running too.

Too late for me..

I wondered myself why on earth it runs in the background when closing.

As a quick fix I kill FF then over the Windows Task Manager.

Hope to see 3.5.8 ASAP!

Strange

I find that strange, since I have been running 3.5.7 since it was released and have never seen any of the problems mentioned above......BUT I am running the McAfee Plug-in.

I've been running v3.5.7 since release. Along with NoScript. No troubles here.

Been going places you should avoid maybe? I have. And I still have no trouble.

If you are having troubles, I think this topic would be better for everyones benefit posted in the News Hawks area

Not so fast guys!

This is NOT the big deal that you all think.

Firefox 3.5.7 Update

- I had investigated this earlier this week after experiencing this myself.

Mozilla already knows about FireFox 3.5.7 SOMETIMES hanging upon closeure on some PC's.
It can hang somewhere between 10 seconds & 2 minutes. But then it shuts down.
Mozilla is working on a fix.

For those in a hurry ... open "Task Manager" , locate the "firefox.exe" and shut FireFox down manually. - see diagram

#2 Trojan

Rami ... First: .... unclench yer butt-cheeks .... ya picked up a Trojan somewhere ... this has been know to happen to people who use the internet. The simple fact that you KNOW ABOUT IT means that AVG has already caught it ... slammed it into the Virus Vault; then was nice enough to make this known to you.

You are safe, fine, cool, not at risk ... so relax before you have a stroke Bro.

No need to reload your o/s or any of that nonsense .... sounds like you might wanna change yer underpants though ....

Go to the AVG Virus Vault and show me the file name & path so I can see what file the Trojan has attached to & if it can be removed (erased) or if it is needed by the o/s or a program.

DO NOTHING ELSE RIGHT NOW
