You did it! Great paint gajit...grabbing it now...my fav so far!

I did an interresting repaint of the Super Cub tonight. I wished to show it to you, but i need another 10 posts before I can attach a file. :icon_lol:

I'm afraid that if I did that for one person, I'd have to do that for everybody, and it's just not feasible.

However, chances are you can get another package and still pay less than for the Complete.

Mike

I have bought all of the packages now - 1 by 1 - I am not complaining as they are excellent but I would consider it unfair if the rule was changed now. Im sure am not alone.

Woops - Ive done another repaint!

Hey Gajit... Nice job on the yellow Experimental!!!! Only thing I could find that seemed off was the Left interor panel, were the throttles are... would look better in yellow as I believe it is on the yellow amphib. Looks just like the one in my Cub crafters calender! Thanks Robin

Gajit...

What are the inspirations of these repaints? Imagination? Or from real world photos?

Charles.

Hi Charles. All real world - sometimes they are on slightly different models of the cub but i try to keep it close to the real thing.

If you google the registrations you will find photos.

I just bought the amphib as a little taster and I'm afraid I had to swap the sound for another add-on straight away. I didn't want to have to hit 'Q' every time I cycled views. I'm using the sound from the RealAir Scout package for now (after reducing the volume of the Wind sound somewhat!) but I'd really like to also use the airframe stress sound from the Scout and not the sound the Supercub comes with. Is is possible to do this or are those sounds (that one sound I think) somehow embedded in the model file? On the Supercub it's a bit on or off whereas in the Scout it sounds more natural.

Also my installer is dated 08/01/2010 - is this the most up to date version?

Great!

So. Are you planning any repaints for the Classic Bush kit? I only own Standard and Classic packages.

Regardless. These look fantastic. Thanks for investing your talents in this great hobby. Makes it more fun for everyone. <-- Feeble attempt at brown nosing to get repaints for the standard package... (did I say that with my outside voice?) :monkies:

Charles.

I`ve done two repaints for the standard package, but neither of them is sporting an American reg. One Swiss real world scheme for the standard ski version and one fictional Aussie scheme for the standard wheeled version, based on a New Zealand based SC.

I`m trying to rack up some posts to be able to show some images. :icon_lol:

Well WF442 you're averaging 3 posts per year now so you'll have to step that up a bit, LOL.

How many posts do you need to post images? (<---Shamlessly giving a reason for another post)

That`s the really ironic part... I never felt inclined to post anything before, but now that i finally found something to post, i can`t because i haven`t posted enough. :icon_lol:

after this one, i`ll have to post four more.

Hi there. Yes, you're up to date. And only some sounds, such as switches, primer pump, knobs and wind sounds when the doors and window are open, are embedded through the Flight Replicas sound gauge. The rest, such as engine sound, are generated through the sound.cfg.

Just a word of warning, a couple of the non-engine sounds in the sound.cfg are actually linked to a gauge, and you may have problems with the airplane if you switch the sound file for another. This is less a problem in the IFR Amphib.

The best way to change sounds is to go through the Super Cub sound.cfg and change the .wav names there, and then put the new .wav's into the sound folder.

Hi Charles

if there are any real world schemes you can find for me to do then let me know but im not really an advanced painter like many others. I cant do reflective golds, silvers etc or crome so please select any you would like me to consider carefully.

Also remember that us painters need a few pics from different angles to work from - there are a lot of pics of great cub schemes but the wings are hard to see.

Mike has done a superb job with the paint kit so it is much easier to use than many other products.

Cheers

GJ

Just wanted to say, since I dont switch views (I only fly in the VC) - I think the engine sound
has been replicated fantastically. It was one of the first things I noticed-how great the engine sound is, especially on good speakers.

I personally dont care for the airframe stress sound, as it doesnt seem to actuate smoothly, nor the wind from opening the window-but that could be eventually updated....

Again, If your not a veiw switcher (I replicate being in the real view-VC) I personally think the engine sounds are spectacular- I absolutely luv these cubs! Thanks Mike!

Dirk, and Gajit
Keep the paints coming, I have so many in my selection screen it takes me forever to select which one to fly..lol :icon_lol: Thanks for your hard work-as I know painting these buggers takes great patience/time

Aloha,
Sean

Unless you are going to paint diagonal stripes on top of the wings. :kilroy:
That was one interresting challenge for sure.
