Question of the Day (02/11/10)

Chinese- Szechuan anything

Japanese- Katsu Donburi, Yakiniku Lunch, and Gyoza. Oh, and Green Tea Cake for dessert!

When I get the money we like the local Chinese Buffet, I guess my favorite thing there is the Rat on a Stick. I think it's supposed to be Chicken Teriaki, but I've always called it Rat on a Stick.

I spent a year in the mid 80's in Korea while in the Army, and have never forgotten the dried and pressed Squid jerky available from all the street vendors, never had the urge to even try it. But I did try Kagogi once, it was a little tough and stringy, but in all it wasn't bad. (Google it if you don't know)

There used to be this little hole in the wall Chinese place in a small strip mall not far from where I live....I loved their Chicken and Cashews. Their egg rolls were to die for and their vegetable fried rice was just as good. I used to get Chicken and Cashews at least twice a month....then one day the county health inspector made a not so appetizing discovery. Cats in the freezer. As in MEOW MEOW! They were cooking CATS and using that in their dishes.

So, I guess my favorite Chinese dish is really Cats and Cashews, over a bed of vegetable fried rice with egg rolls on the side.

I miss that place. Chicken, Cat...whatever...it was good and I would so dive into a nice platter of that stuff right now.

Mmmm.....mmmm......good!! Cats and cashews !! Yummy!!!

I usually get the Kung Pao Beef with rice. But believe it or not, I love the Jasmine tea the most.

Bad dog, spit that kitty out! now!!!

Some time ago my family-members always went to chinese restaurants at their birthdays, multiple times a year. The outcome was: I cannot stand it any more, no way! Moreover I do dislike the taste-enhancers and microwave stuff they use at the places here. Unbearable, it´s always cheap and you get monster-portions, ever wondered why???? But I must confess I am addicted to warm peanut-sauce...sate, etc.

Personally I could spent my entire gourmet-life between Sushi and Pizza, Pasta and portuguese kitchen, completely fallen to this stuff, need nothing else:engel016:

years ago, when i lived in tennessee there was a chinese take-out place we used to go to. if i remember right, the people who owned the place were not chinese though, they were korean. the reason it sticks out in my mind is, the kids had the deepest southern drawl you ever heard. :icon_lol:

What do you order when you eat Chinese Food?

Food.....

normally, it's chicken chow/chou mein with egg fried rice, some yuk shung, maybe some honey lemon chicken and rice... extra veg, chips... and a can of cola for the drive home :icon_lol: yes i eat like a tank drinks diesel, but have to refuel for my 4 mile run twice daily :wavey:

Whatever is avaiable that doesn't include mushrooms.
