There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.
If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.
Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

That is really sad. I wonder what will happen to the whale? Will they put it down, like a killer dog or bear, or what? You are right Ferry. There is a reason we call wild animals, "wild."

This one in particular needs to be set free, this is its second victim.

This is a really well made documentary about dolphins, but it really changed the way I view aquariums and Sea World type places. (The guy wearing the mask at the beginning was the dolphin trainer for "Flipper" who now makes it his life mission to free captive dolphins)
Yup.Just my 2 cents~
Three words: Set them free!
Three more words: Leave them be!
Blanket statements rarely work.
I keep my Labrador Retriever in a full acre of fenced in backyard. Does that make me a jail keeper?
Depends entirely upon the animal.
A large animal that likes to roam wide ranges should not be kept in a confined area. I agree with that view. However, what about the nature range that the San Diego Zoo uses? It's very large, the same acerage that these animals would roam naturally.
Do the flamingoes need to be freed? When I see them, they look as normal as those in the wild.
When I see otters playing at the zoo they don't look upset to me. They look like they're having a grand time doing what otters do.
