I've got most the major freeware, if not all of them, and the ICARUS payware Cr-42. any Luftwaffe skins for this plane?

Thanks

Bones

Back in 2005 Errafitti did a Luftwaffe skin for Silvia Borja's version of the -42. I haven't looked but I'd be surprised it wasn't here in the Archive or at Simviation.

Thank you Buv. I saw that skin and tried to download it when I was gathering dead links for the German skins for here at SOH(the link is dead) and I noticed the plane was listed as "payware". Is the plane here at the Outhouse or could you tell me where I could find it?

Thanks

Tony

Hi,
Silvia's CR-42 was only available as part of her Italian Airforce payware collection (Worth having if only for the BR-20 and Cant bombers in the set). This was available from her site but her site seems to have been taken down and I know that she has retired from building models.

I wonder if one of our spanish speaking members would be able to contact her and see if she would be willing to release her payware products as freeware.

Hi guys,

I could've sworn I've seen Silvia's payware add-ons at the Pilot Shop at Flight-Sim.com and also SimMarket.com. I was wondering if her planes came with a virtual cockpit as the screen shots don't show any.

Kind regards,

TW

Gavin, Willy, I have the Icarus CR-32, it has German skins, their CR-42 don't. I did an extensive search of these two sites and was unable to find her pack. There's only 10 payware planes between the two sites(all at Flightsim) for CFS2 and none of them WW2 that I remember. I would count it a favor if someone could possibly contact her about donating it as freeware, balls to the wall I would scape up the bucks to pay her for it. The German skin for the Cr-42 is a dead link at the moment, but I'm working on compiling all German skin dead links here at SOH for the webmasters to repair when they can. I take it she doesn't speak English, if she does, someone give me an email address and I would contact her. The Cr-42 German night intruder is sort of special to me, I once built one in 1/32 scale; balsa frame that I planked in thin sheet syrene with full detail, I had about 150 hours work in it.

Silvia´s email

Tony

As Spanish is my native tongue a while ago I´ve tried to contact Silvia through her email about her SCW vehicles. Old Wheat and Xavier Borja helped me. Both emails I´ve tried were dead.

Sorry for not having good news.

Cheers, Discus

Bones, have you considered give it a try yourself for any of the CR42 models you already have?. It's very rewarding to see your own skins in the game, even when they're not the quality of the masters around here.

Thicko's CR.42 seems to be fairy easy to repaint. With a profile from Internet and a couple of hours in a paint program, you can probably get something decent for your own use.

Tonybones,
The last time I heard from Silvia she mentioned that she had had a major HD meltdown and in consequence had lost most of her CFS2 stuff. It is a great pity, because she had been working on a set of great looking 8th Army troops and a Bren Carrier. Wherever you are Silvia, I hope things are going well for you!

I wish I could JL. With my wife's illness and our financial situation I don;t have the time. I've looked at a few skins through PSP 7.2, which is the only graphics program I use, and am totally lost. I do my own artwork for my horror fiction I'm trying to get published, they are done in a completely different manner than aircraft skins. I've tried to find time to go through Cody's mission building book, so far I've gotten to page 3.

Anyone up to the task of filling a badly needed gap in Italian fighter usage, well, I'll download the skin and fly it, and Thicko's Cr-42 would be the one I'd pick for it.

I know things like that can be discouraging Mike. My best wishes to her too.

Sorry to hear that. I didn't know it.

Well, I found this last night and thought about trying it for Thicko's Falco. Here is the result. I'll upload it in a few minutes to the skin section. Don't expect anything spectacular, but since it's a night operating aircraft, nobody will notice the poor quality :icon_lol: .

JL, she had a high end clerical job in a medical clinic, her doctor ordered her off work. She has sleep apnea, which has led to a series of other illnesses, it's a domino effect, plus right now is not a good time to be sick in this country.

That skin looks very good, it's certainly a better job you did on the skin that the model builder did on the plastic model over at Tamiya. I don;t see a thing wrong with your texture, it's pretty close to my scale model I built. Thank you again for your help, I'll be proud to fly Thicko's Falco with your texture:salute:

Japlance, I wanted to thank you again for the skin, I have been flying Thicko's Falco with this skin on it for several days now, and that with Silvia missing in action, I'd love to see your skin uploaded into the German skin section here in the archives. As I said, it fills a needed gap in our little Universe of WW2 history in combat flight simming.

Gracias!

Bones

Glad you liked it :wiggle:.

It's already uploaded, but the new SOH library doesn't have categories for the added skins and planes. I'm not sure if it would be very useful when numbers grow and you need to look for a very specific file, but hopefully they will expand it.

I think it's a very good skin and authentic, and deserves to be with the rest, you do good work.
