Alright guys, let's have the willing see what they can do with this rediculous picture. Where and what?:ernae:

This should be STUPID hard, unless someone has some sort of unfair photo searching engine that doesn't need names or labels. Oh and Panther, you mentioned airfields that are not even really on the internet? I may have to resort using once-landed by helicopter sites of car accidents. :kilroy:

Early construction at Saufley The control tower and hanger certainly fit. On second look, though that could be a Type BM habgar rather than a Saufley/Chevalier/Quantico Type.

Is there any accompanying information you'd like to share about this picture?

I smell a trick, as evidenced by your smirking emoticon. It's either:

1. It was too easy for you. You want me to say 'no' so you can drop the answer like an anvil on me because you know I think it's too hard.

2. It is too hard and you're wanting a hint.

hmmmm.......
:cowboy:.....Chuck Norris says no hints. You win every time. :salute:

edit: it's not saufley field.

lol It was #2, but N2056/JDhaenens already got it...

I guess I lose for having the wrong name...:icon_lol:

I got to it by searching for "WW2 Beech 18 squadrons" based on the planes in your pic that were parked to the right ;)

And with this post he hits 1,000!

Beats me...I only have black and white pictures. I have 2 books (Vol's 1 and 2) named "Naval Air Stations of World War II" by M.L. Shettle, JR. I just looked.

that's a modern photo. The airfield is historic though.

Well, I guess I'm out as I have limited time and planes to build...but I must admit that there is a certain satisfaction to figuring out the answer!
