GMAX MSXML problem HELP!!!!

I have been using Gmax for a while now to build models for an airport make-over I am working on but just ran into problems I can't seem to fix so need the assistance of the local Gmax gurus. ;)

I have been able to export multiple models with no problems but I took a break from modelling due to other commitments and some RL issues and only recently got back into the project again but whenever I try to export a FSX model I hit the same error message as follows:

"Failed to create MSXML! Is MSXML4 installed on this machine"
I have checked that it is installed, removed and reinstalled MSXML4 SP3, removed SP3 and reinstalled MSXML SP2, reinstalled Gmax with a reboot at each change and I am still getting the same error message. Nothing I do seems to cure it!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is going wrong so that I can get the export function working again?

Cheers.

Makes no difference whether I start from the desktop shortcut or the exe file Bill I still get the same error message.
:isadizzy::confused:

After a full day of messing around and banging my head against the wall I have finally solved my problem and can export models again!

It turns out that even though I had done full uninstalls and clean re-installs of the MSXML4 utility there were TWO files that were not being replaced by the installer!

A Google search led me to the MS site where I downloaded the 'msxml4.cab' file. I then had to unpack the .cab file and manually move the files to the 'Windows\System32' folder and then manually register the missing DLL files. Once done Gmax compiled correctly without errors.

Phew, what a relief!

Time to wake the sleeping thread.

I've reached a small hurdle as I attempt to export my first FSX model, where Gmax tells me MSXML4 is not installed.
My being new to the process (and badly needing to wake up) has me wondering if this is in fact what is needed. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15697
My operating system is W7-64bit, although it sounds like this does not matter.

EDIT: I pulled the trigger and installed it with positive results.
