New Doctor tomorrow (Saturday)

Agree on the new title sequence, and the new logo. Not sure aboutt he TARDIS, I thought it would be bigger still from the promo material. The new assistant is very watchable ;) although for a scottish girl who is meant to have retained her accent she did sound VERY West Country!
The writing is definitely up to Moffat's usual standard; exciting, quirky & funny in turns,I think this guy will definitely grow on people, and as someone said above, who can refuse Spitfires in space!!

Dr Who.. is a very Long running program from Britain, It is a great fun show, I have been a fan since the early 70's when a PBS station here first started showing them..
The Dr is a time traveller, that always has really cool adventures and some HOT ladies as company..
it is worth the time to check it all out..

America gave us The Sopranos, The Wire, Breaking Bad, Six Feet Under, Deadwood etc, etc.
We gave them Dr Who.

:icon_lol:

Hey All,

Easily Sarah Jane Smith was the best Dr Who assistant when she was with the best Dr Who of all time Tom Baker.

Saw the second installment this weekend....I thought it was a step in the wrong direction when you compared it to the first one... It was still good, and I think they set the bar pretty high with the first episode...

Still haven't seen it. But actually, I'd really rather watch Benny Hill. Especially his gals. :d

And don't we know it!

It's being plugged relentlessly on all BBC radio and tv channels at every opportunity. They are obviously worried that no one is going to take to the new guy and have told every single program maker regardless of format or genre to talk it up whenever possible whether it is relevant to the program involved or not.

Personally I would rather have a Prostate examination with a sonic screwdriver than watch five minutes of Doctor Who which is a silly kids program after all and I wish the Beeb would STFU about it. I don't know if other nations are aware that we British have to pay £145.50 to the BBC for a TV licence every year (whether you watch the BBC or not I should add) and this is what they do with it when they make millions from selling it arcoss the world anyway. The BBC executives will all lose their Villas in Tuscany if this isn't as popular as it was with David Tennant so they will put endless resourses into plugging it and driving people like me to want to commit acts of vandalism to my nearest TV relay station which is actually just up the road from here ..................... hmmmmmm

Chill man before you give yourself a coronary. You pay for the Beeb, yes but and it is a big but - there are no commercials every 5 flipping minutes. Thank heavens for the Beeb, at least they commision good documentaries etc.

It will eventually be on BBC America or Canadian televsion. I'll watch it then. BTW: I was watching the Beatles' Abbey Road special edition of Live @ Abbey Road on Sundance Channel, and Sir George Martin said that Abbey Road studios were "like the TARDIS." Sing along: "One of us. One of us. One of us."

I'd be very happy to administer your Prostate examination with a Number 10 Super Sonic Screwdriver.

But there are commercials every 5 minutes - for their own programmes, that's exactly what I'm talking about. They sneak them into the news and current affairs programmes and chat shows and magazine programmes as well as in between every show on TV and the Radio. Thankfully they have got bored of promoting Dr Who already, now it's 'Who wants to be in the next Andrew Lloyd Webber Musical' - (a commercial enterprise way outside of the Beeb's public remit by the way).
And what would you consider to be the last good documentary they commisioned? Not bought in from somewhere else but commisioned themselves?

I agree. The BBC these days is cooking, gardening, repeats and bargain hunt. The only variety they have is a few hours a week of crap like webber. There hasn't been a decent BBC documentary since last year. What annoys me when the BBC are banging on about money is the thousands they spent on that bleedin' CGI hippo synchronised swimming team before every third program.

Don't flatter yourself sunshine, that's more of a nightmare than a dream.:173go1:

Too Late Wombat, you've already made your feelings clear.
In fact you are the second Member to call me Sunshine today.
Must be the way I'm wearing my hair:naturesm:

You forget the endless 'How to make money from your House' programs and about a million variants thereof.
At least they won't be re-commisioned now everyone is in negative equity :d

What is Horizon if not a documentary? Then there is the recent Brian Cox series on the Solar System. It is hard to monitor from this side of the planet of course. My memory of the Beeb is 5 years out of date, so it may well have taken a nosedive since I was last there.

BBC Canada is a joke however and I often send them e-mails complaining about the content, they have a standard response. It mainly consists of dreary comedy series and home buying shows which are shown here on domestic channels anyway, then there is the necessary Canadian content which is forced upon them by the govnmnt.
I wonder is BBC America the same?
