KAZUNORI ITO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the .air file the Engine Type (line 310) is 1 (piston) but... isn't it actually a turboprop? Or is it a helicopter?
It cranks like a piston engine when it starts, so I'm thinking some .air file tweaks are needed in addition to Aeromed's .cfg file changes.

It would function like a turboprop. Those four turbine engines on the back are what power the drive shafts.

It might seem superfluous, but I too want to express my gratitude to Ito-san for his new (weird!) bird. When I saw the thread this morning, my first thought was that he had recovered his vision. Let's hope that is the case, but either way, a hearty WELCOME BACK! :salute:

Regarding the FDEs, even the most perfect FS aircraft get tweaked by the perfectionists at SOH, so what is the big deal? SOH-ers have never seen an aircraft they couldn't improve!

Hi Folks,
I emailed Kanzunori earlier and passed on all our good wishes from the SOH, and here is his reply:-

Dear
Thank you, Thank you for your kind mail.
I'm fine and I'm also very glad for return to making the model.
Please enjoy my all aircrafts.

Regards.

Kazunori Ito

So great news, best of all that his eyesight has recovered for his own sake.

Bit more information.

Hi Folks,
Had a bit more info from Kazunori about his problems. He is happy me mentioning it.

Unfortunately he has lost the sight in his left eye, and has had other complications from this. The good news is that his eyesight in his right eye has been fully restored with surgery and he seems intent on getting down to 'building' again.

I don't think his output will be quite as high, due to the complications, but his next one will be the AVTEK400, which he had partially completed before the problems stopped him.

So good and bad news there. Makes me even more grateful for what he has done and for what he is still doing with all his problems.

Cheers Shessi

These are new contact points for Kaz's beauty. I'm not sure why there are float points so I left them in. I may add a few more scrapes as there are only four at this time, where the wing tip lights are and at the extreme nose and tail.

Flight dynamics. What I'm after is having the visual fan tilting agree with the observed response. Just by looking at it I assumed that all lift came from the fans but I read that when co-axial with the fuselage, the fan tubes act as canards providing enough lift for normal forward flight so that wings-proper are not needed.

It's great news that he's back as one of the most prolific builders of not just mainstream, but 'left-field' models he's a real asset to the community!

Here's to many more Ito-san models and to his continued health

Kind regards

John

With all due respect (and not to be funny) Mr. Ito has more talent in his eye than I have in both of mine.I'm very happy to hear he is doing well. And very excited about the Avtek,I grew up around the real one since I practically lived at CMA(Camarillo Airport)in the 80s.:jump:

Thank you sir for the update ! Mr. Ito is truly a nice person, as I found out in supplying him with reference material on some of his a/c projects. Good news indeed for the FS9 community and Sim community overall !

It is still great news, Shessi. It's a lot better than where he was heading. Miracles do happen; he is better for it as he is not deprived of his hobby and passion -- and we all benefit. Great news, indeed.

Great news, Ito San has been greatly missed and I wish him all the very best particularly with regard to his future health.

I am flying this baby over in FSX but I wanted to share the changes I made over here as well. All new paint outside and redone VC panel on the inside!

I installed this in FS 2002 first of all, as I still fly in that sim, unfortunately I experienced an uncontrollable pitch forward when tilting fans into level flight.

Flies great in FS 9 though.

Another great offering from Mr Ito.:salute:

P.S His Westland Whirlwind is another work of art.

Falcon409, that repaint looks great and the VC mods you made are brilliant. I'd love to get a copy of those textures.
