• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Hi friends:

Got a question on ETO MB item. Where is "Airfield_beacon"? I had used it for a mission; but, it does not appear anywhere. Facilities file has it - 'airfield_beacon.xml' and it calles for - Unit Type="airfield_beacon". I cannot find the Unit Type anywhere in the game files. I tried 'buildings' not there; maybe vehicles(?); not there, either. Do you need another facility to trigger this one?

Also, is it a civilian or military type beacon and is it lighted? Please help

Good Morning,

Sorry you are having a problem with the Airfield Beacon. I have checked and the vehicle "airfield_Beacon" has not been included in ETO by mistake.

I will locate it in my files and email it to you. Meantime drop down to the bottom of the facilities list in MB and you will see water tower_lighted. This water tower has a large flashing red beacon mounted on the very top.

The military airfield beacon has alternating flashing white and I believe green flashes. You may also like the RAF Caravan which fires either a red or green flare for aircraft traffic control.

The water tower is what I used instead of the beacon; I will look into the RAF_caravan, also
