• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I listened to this live on my scanner. (ten miles from me or so) Cops did a great job catching the guy and kudos to the Border Patrol for their great flying and helping the Troops out of the woods. It was very rough terrain and by the end, the trooper's flashlights were going dead. Amazing how much a Night Sun on an A-Star can help in that situation.

I suspect alcohol was involved in this.

Ohhh Yeah...

Kid was 19. Stole the car in the state capitol (Montpelier) drove it 80 miles north to St. Albans. Filled the tank and stole a six pack from a convenience store. Troopers in St. A spotted him and began the chase. Ended up less than 8 miles from where the car was stolen. Only downside is the injuries to the lady in the other car. It could have been so much worse with a woman and her two kids in the other car.

Kid had a Blood Alcohol level of .03 percent Four Hours after the crash (and after running several miles into the woods in rough terrain and then being walked out by the troopers) In VT the max BAC for someone under age 21 is .02%

Stupid kids.... Stuff like this burns me up. Saw too many similar things back when I was working the Bus (Ambulance)

I was thinking something else when I read the thread title....(ah those college memories)...:d
Same here! :jump:

Although alcohol might have been involved, stupidity was definitely involved. Running from law enforcement is about the dumbest thing a person can do. This guy has gone from what was probably petit larceny to felony evasion.
