I just uploaded the second in a series of Campaigns dedicated to USAAF aces Richard (Dick) Bong and Tommy McGuire covering McGuire's first nine missions from August 1943 to December 1943 while Dick Bong was back home in the States on a war bond tour. When Tommy McGuire arrived in New Guinea, Dick Bong was already a double ace with eleven confirmed aircraft kills.

I have secured David C. Copley's permission to uploard all of his P-38s used in the missions, so if anyone needs them, I am able to upload to the library. The last I checked, they are available on the links I provided in the README file. The only one that might not be available is the CAPTMERCY "Burgess" 348thFS P-47. The last I checked, that SOH link was still broken.

where can i download this campaign?

Not seeing it in there.....yet. Probably soon.....
From what I have experienced, the person that uploads a file will see it immediately.
For anyone that wants to download the same, takes about 24 Hrs. I'm thinking it still has to go through some type of viewing/inspection by one of the Administrators. :salute:

Also, I uploaded David C. Copley's P-38s. One of them is a conversion by Morten Krogstad that is usually available here on the SOH, but the links to it are still not working in the archive. His is the "mk_dcc_p38j_20-fg_Jeanne" from which he made several skins for both Pacific and European theaters in skin packs explained in his readme. I have the Pacific theater skin pack still in zip format if the link to his here in the archive remains disconnected.

Once again, I have not modified the aircraft in any way. The F, G, H models were downloaded from David C. Copley's site when it still had CFS2 versions available some years ago.

The various skins are available online from several well known skinners here on the SOH and other CFS2 sites still up and running. I usually make a new copy of the aircraft and rename them to use in the missions with the various skins, rather than doing an aircraft.cfg with several textures. MB just does not like multi-skinned single aircraft.

Also, as I said above, the P-47 that I used in these missions is captmercy's tribute to his uncle that flew for General Kenney in that theater at that time. It is also available here in the archive but that link is still not working. It may have to be re-uploaded to use in these missions.

I am honored to be able to use the fine work of so many talented aircraft designers, converters, and skinners in these missions. They did the hard work, I had the fun putting the missions together from books on the actual pilots heroic actions.

Bottom line at the bottom: It is my hope that you all are able to enjoy these historic missions honoring those that gave all that they had to keep us free back during the era of the "Greatest Generation". I salute those brave, dedicated patriots.

If you have it you should re-upload that Thunderbolt. That way everyone will experience your package as it was designed.

Back in '79 or so I really got into Aircraft and WWII. (My Dad had been a pilot in the 60s so I had flown quite a bit as a kid, but he died in '74 or so and I pushed all that stuff away) I searched and bought books every week...reading the Stories about Bong and McGuire and the competition between them was great reading. One of the reasons I started helping out at the Planes Of Fame museum in Chino, Ca in the early 80s.

Thanks for this!

JETninja and All,

I just sent an email and PM to captmercy asking him if he would reupload to the current library OR allow me to upload the P-47 dedicated to his Uncle George Burgess of Neel Kearby's 348th FS.

I hope that he comes into the outhouse once in a while and gets the PM or that his email in the readme is correct and he contacts me.

I have to apologize to Morten Krogstad, because I uploaded his conversion of David's P-38J Jeanne thinking it was David's original conversion to CFS2. Then I noticed what I had done after the fact.
When David's site had a working link to the CFS2 conversions, I downloaded them all. I did go back and edit the post to give full credit to Morten and hope that he is okay with that. Again, I apologize to him for not securing his permission ahead of time.

Hey Bud, got a problem. Tried it on both PC's but I'm not able to get to Simviation for the downloads your 1st version requires. I keep getting a DNS Phishing warning and it blocks it. Tried both Chrome and IE, and two different PC's. Was able to use Simviation last week (grabbed tons of Terrain Mesh) but I'm guessing they are having issues at this time....

What download from Simviation you having trouble with?

I can't even get to the Site, I get blocked.

Was starting from the top of your list on the .docx. But I cant even get to the main site. Wierd.....

captmercy gave me permission to upload his P-47-20-RA dedicated to his Uncle George. I just uploaded it. It should be available to everyone soon.

JETninja, I see that the first simviation d/ls are the Chuck Selby 39th collection. I just clicked the link from the readme and it took me right to it.

Hmm...

I can't there (could last week) I get this message:

The URL you tried to load:

Yeah, and I can get to it here at Work, but not going to download stuff here. Hopefully I'll be able to get back in at home tonight...Thinking Open DNS is being over protective, I contacted them about it. We'll see.....

OK, been busy downloading everything for your 1st version of this first. Two issues.

This file is no longer hosted here.....

8) You’ll need Peter Mercy’s 348th FS version of Krzysztof Malinowski’s P-47D-20-RA
Location: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/downloads/download.php?lloc=downloads&FileID=13452

And these two point to the same tree file......Need the 2nd one.

4) You’ll need one of Lindsay Watt’s tree packages
Location: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/downloads/download.php?lloc=downloads&FileID=2611

5) You’ll need Lindsay Watt’s Library objects
Location: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/downloads/download.php?lloc=downloads&FileID=2611

And loved the Japanese site, grabbed almost everything there....lol

I may have found it at Simviation page 50, but will check the uploaded one too.

Also, what about item 5 above? Watts Objects. Both your word documents point to his tree's and objects, but both links (on both docs) point to just his trees. Did a search didn't find them.....yet.

Thanks bud!
