I'm not sure if I missed something but is this aircraft Acceleration usuable? I loaded it into my FSX but my prop is not showing correctly....very back.

Also, my Flight Repicas S-199 is a complete black disc.

Any help?

I think it depends on which version you have. The one on sale now is SP2/Acceleration compatible. A few years back Alpha offered an FSX upgrade for the FS9 model, but that only worked in SP1. I suspect that's the one you have - the solid prop disk is a classic symptom (sometimes accompanied by missing gauges and opaque canopies) of a model that isn't SP2 compatible. There is an an amazing freeware T6 by Wozza which you can find here at SOH or at Flightsim - it completely cured my T6 cravings.

well I just downloaded the Texan/Harvard so I would hope that was the updated one. I'm not sure what my issue is then.

Thanks for the heads up on the S-199!

yes I know ferry...I just downloaded them last night from Alphasim.

I'll post a screen later. I have a dark gray disc, with a blurry black prop, and an almost solid yellow outter ring.

Is your FsX SP1 and SP2/Acceleration?

um, a while back AS updated their Texan/Harvard package to be even DX10 capable with cockppit shadowing and such.

I'm not implying or accusing, but is there a possibility you may have 'downloaded' a version not from AS that was 'advertised' incorrectly?

Ok, redownloaded the texan harvard and its the same thing. I took a look into the texture files and I noticed that there are no DDS type files. Copuld this be the problem? Was there an update that I'm not seeing or didn't get?

ok....I know whats wrong. I bought the FS9 variant back when Alphasim offered both versions. The version I have must be an early FSX version. Oh well not gonna dish out another $36.00 for the same plane when I can get the Realair Duke for about the same price.

I too have the S-199 planes, and downloaded the patches for the prop disc, but now I have no sound. Any clues to this one? Thanks.

If you purchased the FSX version from AS, there should be no problem downloading the most recent FSX version using your Alphasim user ID and password. There is no need to pay twice.

well like I said...I purchased the FS9 variant early on when the Texan first came out. I did a screen capture of the download screen and will post in a bit. It shows that you can download either the FS9 or FSX variant but both downloads are for the FS9 variant. My guess is because the FSX is more expensive than the FS9 and has to be purchased seperately.
