I really like this guy. "Summer of 69" is probably my favorite Bryan Adams song. The other one, "Please Forgive Me" is good too. I especially like the video. The dog is cool.

EDIT: Oops. sorry for the "embeded disabled by request" business...

I have always liked Bryan Adams. Got to see him in concert in Dallas many years ago.

I met a guy at an airshow a while back and found out he was from Canada. I told him " Thank you for Bryan Adams, Pamela Anderson ... and hockey " !

"Summer Of 69" gets waaaay overplayed. Every time you're on a bad (= electro or hip-hop) party and the DJ decides to throw in a bit of rock it's that song. *Grr*

I prefer "Run To You", alone for the typical 80s atmosphere it creates.

He's good, but he's no Brett Michaels. :icon_lol:

There are definitely bonus points for being Canadian.

Anyone who posts (Everything I Do) I Do It For You will be summarily executed with my mind bullets.

I don't mind Bryan Adams but this song, this horrible, saccharine sweet song, it hung around in the charts for so long that it should never be played again.

Back in my "younger" days I was a huge fan of many Cdn Rockers, and Brian was very high on my list. I was EXTREMELY fortunate to work in the largest Stereo and Record (yeah those big round things that spun on a turntable) store east of Toronto. One of the big benifits of working in this store was whenever big artists played our region and they decided to do a public apperance we hosted it. I got to meet many of the bigger artists over those couple years and Brian Adams was among them. He is a great guy one on one and really interesting, we had a great chat in the staff room before and after his appearence and it was one of my fav Celeb meetings. He is one hell of a photographer as well, and I love his portrate work, if you are interested in that stuff his work is worth checking out.

The first time I actually seen him play, he was the opening act for "April Wine", and IMHO he blew them away, they were an awsome band, but this was very late in their career and Brian was just starting to break out. He was touring with them to promote his first album which was Gold by the end of the tour.

I sure do miss those days, had sooo much fun, and the music was such a big part of it all.

Summer of 69 is great.... and it was a great year for me. :d

OT.... Mike do you remember the Staccatos from Ottawa? Now they had some great songs. Can't find any of their songs these days. Tho I do remember they changed the bands name to the Five Man Electrical Band.

Make that two!

This was playing on the radio at work, and I was like "What is this, an 80's rock cover of Do/DJ Sammy?"

I had no idea that this trance version was actually a cover until like three weeks ago!

^This song was played at least thirty times at every school dance from 5th to 8th grade for me.

Growing up, we didn't have cable but instead had one of those huge 10 foot analog satellite dishes. MTV was scrambled but Much Music out of Canada wasn't. I like lots of Canadian and European groups that didn't get much airplay here in the states but did in Canada.

For example...

Kim Mitchel

Marillion...

Saga

Tom Cochran & Red Rider

Good ones...

ha! saga had the best guitar/keyboard twin solo ever! 'cept it doesn't come off live as well as it does in the studio because it's tough to get the right mix

Canadian gifts to humanity:

Bryan Adams -- great singer no doubt, but RUSH might have him beat in my view.

Pam Anderson -- depends upon what year model! :icon_lol:

In her younger years before she turned all biker chick on us, she was heavenly.

Hockey -- well, one of the finest sports born of the human mind!

I should have mentioned Rush.... The only band I have seen in concert three times (Marillion opened for one of the shows) And the only way to truly see them is in Canada. All three shows I saw were at the Old Molson Center in Montreal.

Count me in for another Bryan Adams fan. Both the "So Far So Good" and "Waking up the Neighbors" CD's are my favorites. Defaintely a talented musician. He also had a great track too on the "Guardian" movie soundtrack (awesome movie as well IMOH). As far as Rush goes I like their music/lyrics but I cannot for some reason get around the lead singers voice. For some reason it pinches my nerves and I cannot listen to them for very long. Laslty hockey is amazing.. unfortunately my team got knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. Better luck next year, lol.
