• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Gotta give Obama credit for this joke told today ... just old fashioned funny!

He was speaking to a group of people which included the pop stars "The Jonas Brothers." He mentioned that his two daughters were huge fans and then said, "Don't get any ideas, guys! You might not like the repercussions. Predators overhead, you'll never see it coming!" :icon_lol:

Now that's funny!

....and I merely made another joke. I was not "thread copping" so to speak as much as I was foretelling of how the thread would end up. Lately, many members here have been trying to make light of existing and potential arguments to relieve tension. That's a good thing, and it shows growth in this community beyond altercations that HAVE to end in a lock and would not be stopped any other way.

Surely your joke was made in good faith, but if left at face value it would inevitably end up an 'obama conversation'.

I think the "I like where this thread is going" works perfectly well in this context, as in "this thread could clearly get derailed so I'm going to sit here and enjoy it!"

In the future preach to those who want to hear it. The joke has nothing to do with Afghanistan. Am I allowed to joke about a car breaking down, since so many people who've had relatives die in car accidents through the years?

This is the second time you've jumped on Ken. Frankly none of us care about your opinion, so in the future feel free to keep it to yourself.
