I actually think that the REX freeware grass texture is the best freeware grass out there.

There is an AWFUL lot of tempting stuff on that site though...

Edit: But the payware looks amazing!!!

Where can I get the REX freeware. Will it do anything for the desert textures . I want EDWARDS to look like the pic in the link .

The REX freeware is on this page;

And no it won't do anything for the desert at Edwards AFB. There's probably some freeware out there that makes it look a little better.

The only thing that will make Edwards look like the pic is photoreal textures. There's probably an addon out there that is for that part of California.

Has anyone tried any of the replacement tree packs? I think I'm going to give them a go as soon as I have the chance. If there's one thing that peeves me off in scenery it's the sodding trees.

Those payware clouds look better than REX in my opinion. Far more natural. REX clouds look impressive but you rarely see them like that.

I've used some trees by Adnan Arif (IIRC), available at Flightsim. You can search by his name for his FSX packages. He was the autogen guy involved with the Bird's Eye View texture products for FS9, along with other stuff.

I´use in FSX "Ground Textures Europa & USA" by Adam Mills. It is a bigg download c:a 1GB

And I also use "What a wonderfull world package" by Aimé Leclerq.

Before, I have the same as you, flying over northern Sweden with the alps, looks like I´m flying over Sahara desert.

After I installed the abowe, it looks a little better.

I am using the picnic grass from them. There several grass settings that can be applied.
