Orbx sale expanded to region packs, newest airports

Wow!! Not bad!! I was very tempted to get Brisbane before, now Aust.Gold is half price and $10.00 off Brisbane! Hard to refuse now.

well I've added 7S3 to my set up.while its a very nice scenery its FPS hit is a bit higher than that of Darrington for some reason. I was thinking that it would be less of a hit. If I turn off anti alising it holds at about 25fps, with anti aliasing turned on...it holds about 15fps. Guess I'll have to do some fine tuning for this area.

Decided to go Aussie and as those of you who have all the regional packs already know, this is the way FsX should have looked globally.
Too immersed to take shots but I am most impressed and am now in the process of downloading the free airports.

I have a ticket out for the Au Green region which doesn't download as a viable archive but I'm hopeful that this will be resolved soon.

Well the lack of resolution of the Au Green download continues without resolution. I have tried to download the file 11 times now with variations of download manager and even a separate pc all with the same result...bad archive. The issue is clearly with their electronic delivery system as I previously downloaded PNW at 4 times the size!
Their offer is to spend $7 more for a DVD delivery which I am loath to do given all the various attempts to get a valid download. I hope this situation is resolved soon as I don't want FTX Australia to leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Hi Roger, my apologies for your bad experience downloading the AU Green region. If you check back on the FTX support forums, earlier this morning both Orbx and FSS offered to ship your purchase on DVD at our expense. We're also checking the CDN to ensure the archive is not corrupt. Once again, we're sorry this happened in your instance, but given the large number of sales of AU Green over the past weeks/months without any download issues, we're a bit puzzled. We might just re-upload the original archive in case it's sitting on a bad CDN node.

Thanks Koorby,
I'll check in to your forums tonight after work!

Cheers,

Roger.

Well the ORBX guys sent me an alternative download link and down it came!
Many thanks guys:ernae:

I'm now moving (virtually) to Oz where the scenery looks the way FsX should have done from the start!

I've found, as have many others, that the apparent frame rate hit of 7S3 is due to its proximity to Portland. By itself, it's very FPS-friendly, but unlike Darrington, it's surrounded by a fairly dense urban area. Until we can convince everyone to move out of Portland, that's an unfortunate side effect. ;)
