“Imminent Fury” EMB-314

I’m working on a repaint for Tim Conrads superb Embraer A-29 Super Tucano as the “Imminent Fury” test aircraft currently employed by the US Navy.

Most sources mention this aircraft as the same as the aircraft bought by Blackwater in 2008 and registered “N314TG”. The navy has not disclosed the source of the “Imminent Fury” Super Tucano, but from pictures published on the net it is possible to see that this aircraft has exactly the same paint scheme as the “civilian” Blackwater aircraft except for the civilian registration which has been overpainted (this is even visible) and then given a fake navy serial (which is actually for a mh-53…). So I would bet a lot of money that they are the same, not that many Super Tucanos around in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />US…

The "Imminent Fury" program is to test out low cost organic ISR (“intel and recce”) and CAS capability for Naval Special Warfare units. The com antennas layout (and possible internal avionics) has also been modified as part of the test program. Pictures of N314TG in Blackwater service was without any armament, in recent pictures the aircraft has been seen flying with both the wing .50 cal heavy MG’s installed and rocket pods as well as drop tanks. An under fuselage FLIR turret has also been mounted just behind the nose gear bay.

The aircraft has been seen at both NAS Fallon and Nellis AFB, and the current paint scheme has a nice touch of history with a black stallion painted on the forward fuselage. This is exactly the same as the squadron badge of the Navy light attack squadron VAL-4 which flew the OV-10A Bronco in Vietnam. “Fury” is painted on the ventral fins.

Well, Tim has provided the panel lines.
The rest of the work is my own.

Not sure where I got Tims A-29 paint files, either here or at flightsim.com.
