Vertigo Studios P36 Hawk Released.

Looks really good Bruce, although I already enjoy your other repaints I'm really looking forward to this one as Joannes Cucumel was active above my country during the German invasion of the low countries.

However I would like to make one small remark: the red-and-silver "Gypaète Égyptien" (Egyptian Vulture) of SPA 153 has the "Omega" symbol in its claw. Therefore the middle should be open and not a white disk.
The Omega symbol should be black as shown in the picture of Joannes Cucumel in front of this particular plane.

Cucumel scored 3 victories with this aircraft after the 20th of May he was transferred GC 2/9 in which squadron he flew the Bloch MB 152. In total he scored 9 victories, all against the Germans during the Battle of France.

Cheers,
Huub

Here is another one from me.

Beside the first batch of 24 Hawk 75A-6 fighters of which most were captured by the Germans during the invasion of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />Norway in April 1940, 36 Cyclone-powered Hawk 75A-8s were also ordered. Most of this batch was delivered as advanced trainers to the Norwegian training base "Little Norway" near Toronto, Canada. In 1943 they were resold to the US and redesignated as P-36G.

This repaint is of Hawk 75A-8 “443” (cn 14567) as it looked during service in “Little Norway” during the years 1941-43. The aircraft was later sold to the US and then to Peru.

Of interest is the strange green/yellow colour which was called “Apple green”, it should be close to the zinc chromate primer colour. All moving surfaces are in silver dope.

Jens-Ole did you ever upload the 439? as I have not been able to find it so far.....

Cheers,

Congratulations to Dean and all the team at Vertigo Studios for another brilliant Warbird. She is a beauty and apart from the visuals I love the sounds. Thanks to Dean in particular for the excellent customer care in enabling my purchase and download, well above average these days. I look forward to more releases from the team in the future, must look at "The Bridges At Toko Ri" again sometime before the next release! Thanks to everyone also for all the repaints that have already appeared, there are so many nice ones

Best regards,

John N :icon29:

Not yet I'm afraid. I tend to be a bit late with getting my repaints released. Sort of run out of steam for doing the packaging thing...

Mal,

The 1939 Cleveland Air race Schemes are on the list.

Bruce

Bruce,
If you're referring to those 4 camo paints I posted ealier, they are actually the same plane with variations on the colors used...pick the color scheme you like the best...that scheme was applied to aircraft that were used during US Army War Games here in the States during 1939.

Thanks,
mal
