The ball turret was systematically stripped from RAF and SAAF Liberators. The thing weighed, quite literally, about a ton, and was not considered that useful for the sort of work most of them were doing. SAAF Liberators in Italy were often stripped of the front guns, and even of the entire front turret in an attempt to give the things a bit more go.

B-24's

These are going to be released as stand alone airplanes in the next few weeks. They are NOT necessarily going to be set up for an ETO/PTO install. All the pieces will be there and I have set up the sound cfg to work in ETO. If you have another type of installation you'll need to setup the files to work in your particular circumstance.

I will try to include the aforementioned bombsite in the release, but no promises. I will make it work maybe not this first go round.:salute:

Don't worry if you can't get it into the first releases. If it's not installed when you release the planes, as soon as I can get a look at your model and the FOV it uses I'll upload a sight kit here that will enable people to retrofit the Norden into it.

OK, I lied! After using the Norden in my Firepower B-24 online today I still wasn't satisfied with it so I spent another hour or so cleaning up the edges and removing some more jaggies. I sent NachtPiloten the new files, maybe he can still get it into the B-24 before release.

looks great but....it would look better if someone did it in photoshop. (my opinion only)
never been a big fan of photo textures in a sim full of handmade textures.

I just sent you the download link with all my Norden pics/files via PM. The .dds and .bmp files are in there too. Your welcomed to 'shop it. Let's see it when you're done.
