Enjoy , I will also keep updating this and the hovercontrol post with new images as the project continues :)

Very pleased to hear it, wondering what other features your going to build in........folding blades, will the blades "rise/tilt" as the collective is increased ?
I shall look forward to this one, like a big brother to my great Sea King.

Hi seaking055, yes the blades will rise and fall with the collective , but the blades don't fold because they don't fold on the Sikorsky s-61n , because it is a civilian helicopter , well I don't think they fold on the S-61N version :) correct me if I'm wrong though :)

Recently, I've finally managed to get the rotors animated after a lot of trouble. I plan on making tilt, but flex is still a maybe.

I'll keep it updated too, since I'm the modeler.

Ive also tried the helicopter at night in stormy weather , but please note that the night texture has not been applied yet , thats why it looks so bright :D

Enjoy and please say what you think about the roter textures
thanks

Wow conor! You got it right; sort of. It needs a night texture. The texture specs were applied in gmax when I was still learning, and i used the spec texture for the night map, not knowing. :d That will be fixed soon.

When it comes to the rotor texture, here is my piece of advise: just make it editable.
There will always be people unhappy about the rotor texture, no matter how much work you invest in it. Just make so that those people can provide easilly alternative rotor textures, that's the best solution I think.

Hi guys
we might be doing a firefighting version depending on a number of things, but we are thinking of adding the fire tank to the bottem of the L version , but we will see :D

Awsome work there! I really am looking forward to a firefighting variant but in the mean time, Awsome work!!!

Hi Guys

I almost built an S61 a couple of years ago but chickened out when the Alphasim Seakings came out and where a lot better than i could make :)
(Mickoo is a fair level above me with his super smooth meshes)

Looking forward to this one guys.

Regards
Rick

How do you slingload in free flight? I've tried placing the objects and it doesn't work.

I just wish it wasn't so darn difficult. In real life, a handler would grab the attachment and put it in place.

Liftable objects within the freeflight environment.

Hi Folks

Tigisfat -
Liftable objects are simobjects, (not scenery),
and only work from saved flights, (the .flt file calls an xml placement).

Also recommend you reduce your slider settings slightly,
as accurate hovering & consistent hookup
requires your PC not be overstressed and have sufficient spare CPU cycles,
(lock your FPS, and aim for sub 1% FPS variance).

For the original Proof Of Concept working example,(43 liftable objects at EGNL),
Please see CFDG - Downloads - FSX/A Sandbox Liftable Object Operations

Practice your hovering and lifting skills.

Demonstrates configuring and placement of liftable objects,
within the freeflight environment, (not missions).

Also a suitable guide for -
- placing mission liftable objects,
- configuring SimObjects
- configuring library objects as SimObjects

WARNING
Before installing
, back up your existing aircraft.cfg for the B206 & EH101.

Then apply your repaints to the replacement aircraft.cfg.

Ensure you've read the README.txt

Have fun
