Pasped Skylark; WIP Screenshots 2

*SIGH*, you're making it tough on me, Bill.
I keep praying I become "gainfully" employed... :icon_lol:

I'm going to have to get this one at some point.
I can't pass up that style. :kilroy:

I've already suffered another birthday Bill. I hope I won't have to go through another before I get to fly the Skylark.
Got any idea about it's ETA?

Hey HD,

Sorry about that. I am hoping this Friday.

Hey Dain,

This one is going to be called a economy buster, selling at $12.00 USD. This is not one of my normally huge packages. This will be one plane, 3 paint schemes, fully detailed VC, complete FSX exterior bump mapping with textured stressed aluminum area's and everything animated. There will be a paint kit for those that love to paint.

The main thing about this one is that its fun to fly. Its sort of like the Kodiak in that you can put it down most anywhere. Nothing like a Storch, mind you, but its giant belly mounted airbrake enables you to drop in high over tree tops. She doesnt do an outrageous speed, topping out at roughly 150 to 155 MPH if you wax the paint and the air is dense and the throttle is full and you arent loaded down, lol. Fuel range is already knotched to 475 NM per the data on it, thats at cruise, RPM on the green line.

EDIT: I forgot to mention. Alot of people now have some pretty powerful computers, so I am going to offer a version called HD or High Definition. This version will be all 2048 sized textures, basically double size. The regular plane will only have the Panel and Fuselage in double size, (maybe one more, dont know yet). The double size textures are still DXT5-16 bit, not 32bit. (No 32bit textures on this package as 32bit seems to be a real frame rate killer. I only do double size now instead of 32bit unless its for FS9 since FS9 doesnt support doublesize texture sheets). The HD version will be the same cost. Nothing special, just huge textures for super clarity.

She is beautiful! Another one I will keep my eye out for... :applause:

How does she handle on the ground? That nose looks awefully long to see over!

You arent kidding, lol.... The nose is basically impossible to see over. Probably worse then a P-40. When you have planes with big noses (like a P-51 for instance) you have a couple of ways of working taxi situations out. Zig-zagging is one, (you see them do this in war movies when on a ground airbase). Another is looking out the canopy, canopy open, hanging their heads out the window. Great if you have TrackIR in FS, but not if you dont. Another way was just to watch the sides of either the taxiway or runway out the sides, making sure one side doesnt go under you, in which case, you knew you were going into the grass (or dirt, in the case of Phoenix, where you dont have grass... sigh... )

As for handling, very very good. Much better then the little Tailwind. The airfiles (AFM set) were created by Pam and Paul who do work for Iris. The plane handles really nice in the air and on the ground. We were given a ton of input from the rebuilder of the plane, Tom Brown, who specializes in EXTREME ground up rebuilds and works primarily with Wacos. He redid the plane for Buzz (the owner) and has some time on the plane. He said it handled very much like a 'huge' plane, could land very slow, but ran out of elevator, had excellent aileron control, and cornered poorly on pavement but excellent in grass, etc, etc, etc... In this plane, we have it handling really nice on the ground. He also stated its very underpowered, even with a new Super Scarab radial, saying that it could go much faster, or rather could handle much more power. (You can of course 'adjust' your config files if you like for a faster performing variation).
