Hill Aerospace Museum

Spent the weekend in Utah visiting my wife's side of the family, and managed to sneak this in! Here are some photos I hope you'll enjoy - This museum is in Ogden, UT, about 30 miles north of Salt Lake City.

I'm told it's definitely in the top 3 nationwide - I'd say it's well worth a visit if you find yourself in the area! I got up close and personal with a Norden Bombsight, also the first time I have seen a P-38, P-40, P-47 and A-26, and an SR-71, among others "in the flesh"!

Indeed! My only active duty time in Utah was Desert Phase at Dugway - but little did I know, years later, I'd marry a Utah girl, and spend 6 years up the road in Tooele just west of SLC.

No - I was in 'longhair' mode - private civilian practice, but a bunch of the DOD civilians were my patients, neighbors, etc... We saw a few flurries this weekend in Ogden - snowing up in the high mountains, a few flurries almost made it to the valley - then 96 degrees when we got off the plane is good old eastern NC!

I am fortunate in the fact that Hill AFB is only 30 or so miles away from me. I drop into the museum often when visiting the Hill PX or just in the area doing stuff.

Pensicola

I am heading out to Pensicola tomorrow. I think that is my favorite air museum. I have never been to Paterson though, I here it is the best. I used to work with the guy that built a Huricane and the recon spitfire which I got to see here in california. i actually live by plant 42 where they fix the space shudle, b2, b1, and the AF does a lot of tough and goes here. I love staying home during the week to see all the different stuff in the air. The best thing I ever saw flying was boeings entry to the Joint Strike Fighter program. It was Ungly but smoking fast. It went vertical after take off and left its escort in the dust.

Yeah, I live close to MCAS Cherry Point, and we get some pretty good 'airshows' here too - the real kind , and the daily operations kind.

OW, are you in Sandy? I remember you from back in the early days of CFS2 - I was in Stansbury Park in Tooele county until 2003. My stepdaughter and son in law are in Sandy off of 106th South.

I moved to Eagle Mountain around 2003 then to Salt Lake City 3 years ago.

Eagle Mountain between Rush Valley and Lehi? I know it well! SLC is a nice town - I miss some things about it, some things not, but I always enjoy going back for a visit!
