Sitting here watching Steve McQueen in "War Lover",and couldnt help
but ask the question. What are your favorite "Warbird" movies?
(And if you havent seen it,definite must-have for that collection.)

I see mentioned "Tuskeegee Airmen",and I thought while I was watching it
the first time,"Will Smith should've been in this movie!". It was pretty good however.

(Although I like it very much to watch "the Lost Battalion" with Rick Schroeder about WWI and having nothing to do with warbirds...:wavey:)
 
there are two from the other side's point of view, one of them even produced in the UK (if I remember correctly):

One got through: on the German pilot Frans von Werra, who was shot down and captured in the UK and later escaped from Canada via the US

The star of Africa: a strangely old fashioned, almost authentic movie from the 1950s (?) on Hans Joachim Marseille in North Africa. Not sure if there is an English version.

However are they at least subtitled in english or french? I'd love to watch them, :applause:mostly the one about Marseille...
 
the one on v. Werra must be available in English ("made in the UK").

no idea about the other one, never saw an English version(?) :wavey:

I'm nostalgic of this movie even if incredible ones can be done
in digital such as Pearl Harbor
 
I guess The Great Escape fits the bill as there's some flying involved too. And if it doesn't it's still a fine WWII movie. :jump:
