There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.
If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.
Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Actually, the B type was rubbish. It had a very short range, some 375 miles with a 500Kg bomb load, and abysmal defensive armament. Also it was slow, maximum speed of 238 mph at 13,500 ft; cruising speed 210 mph... When it faced any determined defence, it got slaughtered.
The R type was a B type with increased fuel capacity - a good idea until you realise that the more fuel you carry, the smaller the bomb load will have to be... And so on.
The D did address many of these problems; it had twin rear guns, a bigger engine (Jumo 211F/J/P rather than 211A, giving some 400-500 bhp more), more armour plate and... was heavier. And overall slower, despite a slightly higher theoretical top speed. But it did have better survivability, and that was important, especially if you were sitting in it at an inopportune moment...
Just to let you sleep at night. It is in my factory. I only need to do the Cockpit and it is finished.
However I need to get my I153 done first. It is 95% done. So It won't be long before I get on to The Ju87D. I have put the Ju87D before the Me323 as I think it will be used much more.
I have been slowed down a bit over the last few weeks as I have to do some traveling.
Nigel you mentioned that the D model was still slower than the B. However, is there a truly faster version of the ju 87 in the entire series? I mean, how come all were upgraded over time with more powerful engines and were still slower? Airframe perhaps?
Who made the I153 we currently have? Dancat?
