After all these years...

I'm just floored by the stuff you guys have for CFS2!

I got it on release day waaaay back when. Loved every minute of it. Especially when you attacked the Japanese Carrier fleets in the SP campaign. All that flack, dodging around in Wildcats and Hellcats or Corsairs. Probably my most beloved flight sim. Flying the AVHistory 1% planes...

Where can I get CFS2 again? I can't find my disc. The usual places? eBay, etc?

I have seen it at all the usual places. It can cost from 7 to 90 bucks. I think you can get a new copy for about $25. Yep, the boys sure have done some work on it. Hope ya find a copy soon, don't lend it to your buddies!:ernae:

Good to see you back again CybrSlydr.

When was it released? In my memory, it was Thanksgiving weekend; November 25, 2000. I too bought it on the first day and it has been on my computer ever since. We keep seeing reports of people finding it for around 10 USD. Even at double that it's still a bargain.

With all that is available now, you'll probably want to investigate seperate installations for all the various theaters of WWII, Korea and even WW I. VN has a fair share of add ons too and can be quite fun at jet speed.

Perhaps I didn't get it on release then - I think my parents got it for me for Christmas.

I remember going to Simviation to get planes for CFS1 - and then all of a sudden, CFS2 planes had a page! The first one, I remember, up for download was a brown P-40. :D

You will be hard pressed to find it in a retail outlet, that said, I was in Zellers recently and saw it in the bargain bin. I was tempted to get it as a backup, but there was a crack across the front of the case and I figured the CD may also be in poor condition and the Mrs was in a rush. Also our Zellers in not a great place to be anyway as I don't have the requisite tattoos, nor do my knuckles drag along the floor, but hey it's cheap. lol

I think I bought CFS2 in January of 2002 or so. Could have been early 2001, just can't remember.

I had just bought a brand new computer- made by a little local outfit here where I live.

At the time I had never used my computer for computer games- not ever- had never been even slightly interested.

However, my daughter was getting older so for her sake ;) I asked the guy whether the thing would run state of the art computer games and such. He said that it should but just to see I should try it out on one of the newer resource gobbling flight Simulators. I said like which one? And he said that CFS2 PTO was new and should be able to give the new computer a good shakedown cruise.

I paid $49 for it. Best $49 I ever spent. No doubt about it.

Discovered CFS2 Online sometime shortly after that. Nothing but fun since!

Hope you find a copy soon, Cyber. Shouldn't be too much trouble.

Cybr, I got mine at a thrift shop for 1 dollar, I've seen them at Amazon, 10 to 40 bucks. I got the book for 2 bucks of Amazon.

I can confirm that I've seen it retailing for the equivalent of $8.00 USD (DVD case, not boxed version).

Just Flight has it bundled with various addons including the Flight1 Pearl Harbor, which is still the best payware addon in my opinion, though I do know the people here have done a brilliant job too. They give prices in dollars, so presumably send it to the US.
:wavey:

I ordered the CFS 2 add on "Dambusters" from Flight 1 and they sent it to the USA quickly and inexpensively.

By the way, until PHP v2 came along, the Pearl Harbor add on was tops. I still use the included P-40 quite a bit and there are lots of skins for it available around the web.

Sounds good folks - though I think I'll hold off making a purchase until I'm through Basic and AIT. :D

I doubt I'll have the time to play much until around Christmas time. :D

Thanks for the help!
