THESE ARE THE SKYBLAZERS

Hello All,

Here is a short video featuring the FSX Skyblazer aerobatic team. We don't take ourselves as seriously as the video implies; rather, we were trying to create the feel of a 1950s USAFE training film. This is the introductory sequence to a series of short instructional films we are making on the Section F8 Sabre. Although there is no instruction in this introductory clip, future videos will feature how to start the F-86 and perform ground checks, how to take off and fly an overhead break with the aircraft, and how to fly basic formation in the Sabre.

Again, we don't take ourselves as seriously as the video might imply, we just like to fly the great SF8 Sabre on multiplayer.

A slightly higher quality/ larger version can be seen on our website here: http://skyblazers.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=54&Itemid=64

Chris,

Nice job on the video and the new website. I'll definitely be interested in the instructional videos that show starting procedures. I never have been able to master that. . .it's the main reason I don't fly the Section8.:salute:

Ed,

I'll be moving to a new house this week, so I'll be 5 days without internet... but that should give me plenty of time to finish the instructional video on startup. I know your frustration. When I first got the F-86 I had nothing but engine fires; I finally had to call my father on the telephone (who flew the H model) and he walked me through the engine start.... not bad for 60 years out of a sabre cockpit. The instructions/ Checklists from Section F8 are correct, but they must be followed precisely -- more on that later.

I've been taking on too many projects and haven't been able to finish any of them. I appreciate all of your help when it comes to FSX, and I promise that you'll see results soon. I've finished a photo-real scenery for Chaumont AFB, France as well as photo-real for 15 miles surrounding the field. The scenery has night maps, and blending, as well as hand placed autogen around the field (scenery from the video). That will go up onto the server as soon as I figure out uploading. A buddy of mine and I have also been working on high-res photo-real scenery of the Mojave desert, it's looking great -- night maps, water masks, and blending. Hand-placed auto-gen to follow. We are trying to continue the excellent free-ware photo-real scenery of Death Valley. We hope to have this project done within 2 months. There is also an F-100 paint that I need to upload, but I am not 100% satisfied with the bare -metal texture and I am looking into photo-real methods for doing that. Flying with the Skyblazers and teaching these guys formation flying is also taking up lots of time......

Lateral G, yes... this is the SectionF8 F-86 -- It really does look better in Sim than it does in this video, but this is my first video and I'm still learning how to bring out the beauty of the aircraft. Go download and fly this Sabre! SectionF8.com

Keep em Flying,

Chris
