PC-7 V2.0 Released.

I just checked the Viper paint here and for some reason I am getting an all black aircraft and just a black box with gauges in the VC. Looks like I need to rework all my paints for V2.0 after all.

It's ok...the textures just need renaming (less the_T)

DOH!!! :isadizzy::banghead:

Thanks for that Roger, I forgot all about that '_T' issue.

However, I still want to change the textures to DDS and seeing as Tim has now included proper spec and bump maps I also need to create correct specs and alphas for the paints. The VC textures also need looking at as there are some funky things going on there too.

They will all look better for a bit of TLC. ;)

Watch this thread for news of the V2.0 compatible repaints.

Here she is using the bumps and vc etc textures from Tim's texture folder...

Thanks again Piglet. Already downloaded and added additional paints after putting all common "Shared" textures in one folder. Brilliant model! :icon29:

Thanks for this update Tim, I always love to fly in this little plane above Switzerland. Now I've got even more reason to do so :)

Lenny,

This download has already been done by Vinflyer (Vincent van Yperen). UPI cona find it here: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/page.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=info&FileID=10443

Cheers,
Huub

Indeed, I made that one some time ago. I'll try to make an update on that one in the higher res dds version, if time permits...

I just gave the PC-7 a quick flight around the pattern. I don't know how I missed this in FS9, but this is one sweet little package. She handles like a dream. My quick flight around the pattern became a few low level passes, a bunch of rolls, a four-point roll, Cuban eight, loops, and screaming down the runway inverted. I think I have a replacement for my much beloved T-28. It's lighter on the controls, more responsive, quieter, and probably burns a heck of a lot less fuel than the T-28. Thanks, Tim!:wiggle:

Oh, and having the GPS mounted atop the instrument panel is perfect!

Okay, here's a question for those of you who've put some stick time in with the PC-7: how do you slow it down? It's one of the slipperiest planes I've ever flown in FS. Even with the throttle at idle, it seems to want to happily cruise along at 200KIAS, making it pretty tough to get it slow enough to extend flaps. I'd had to resort to pitching up fairly radically to bring it into the white arc so I could lower flaps on approach. Once the flaps are down, it's quite manageable. But getting it to those speeds is a challenge.

Anyone know what the secret is?

I found out that I still had an almost finish repaint for the old PC-7 laying around. Fortunately it's high res at 2048x2048, so suitable for the new PC-7. It's the current Swiss AF c/s, I need to tweak a few things but I'll upload it soon.
