• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

What was the easy fix for wrong start aircraft in ETO

It's almost invariable down to your sound alias which is incorrect, or missing pylons and weapons. If you check through the aircraft that's CTDing on you, you'll find the problem. It saves all this messing about coming out with a stock aircraft loaded. I never bother with that, and never have trouble. Simply check things are correctly installed - don't take anybody else's work as infallible - and you'll be fine.
 
...but wouldn't be the easy fix just to get going again either

to delete the uisel.xml file or
to edit it by replacing the entry for "Own aircraft" to a stock model (name of .m3d file), which works.

and then checking the aircraft that caused the problem?

Do that first and you don't need to do the rest!
