Dino's F35 released!

Working on a beta Alternate Afterburner Effect for the F-35A. I still have to work out a few issues but it will stage. Bleed through still happens but it is minimal. Still have a ways to go before I am satisfied with things.

Thanks Sundog, once again

Go to this section of the code and you can adjust that, by adjusting the numbers I bolded. The numbers after the slashes, those slashes make them just comments the code doesn't read, are the original settings so I can reset them if necessary.

[flight_tuning]
// GENERIC ENTRIES
cruise_lift_scalar = 1.0
parasite_drag_scalar = 1.0
induced_drag_scalar = 1.0
elevator_effectiveness = 1.2 //1.0
aileron_effectiveness = 1.0 //1.4
rudder_effectiveness = 1.0
pitch_stability = 1.2
roll_stability = 1.2
yaw_stability = 1.3
elevator_trim_effectiveness = 1.0
aileron_trim_effectiveness = 1.1
rudder_trim_effectiveness = 1.0

It isn't anything Dino did wrong, it's just we all use different joysticks so the responses will be different for each of us. For instance, I have to reduce the roll power, because with my JS on landing I sometimes get a PIO in roll. It's due to the high breakout forces on my JS. So sometimes you just have to adjust those values so it works well for you.
EXCELLENT, THANKS, WONDERFUL RESULTS :applause::guinness::icon29::guinness::medals:

Wish I could wrap my head around figuring out how to paint the F-35?? She won't show in Fs Repaint and I cant get Paint.net to use unless I have Fs Repaint to check my markings for correction and size adjustment.

The pilot is...

I see you guys are having fun with the F-35 :)!!!

And looks like the first mods are in the works... good thing!
I am sure that the community will take the F-35 to an higher level of quality.

As for who is the pilot... no it is not me!
It is the LM chief test pilot. The orginal plan was to have different pilots for the different planes, possibly resembling the real world test pilots - I thought it would have been cool, but I dropped that feature as (apart for copyright reasons) I thought nobody would have noticed it :)

I hope that, albeit my rendition is inaccurate, my project helps in making people understand what an amazing piece of technology the F-35 is. I suggest, for example, to look for the APG-81/avionics suite/interface demo videos on youtube - the F-35 IS a quantum leap in those fields. Some features are a pilot's dream come true and others would be unbeliveable even in a sci-fi movie.

As for the SP2 compatibility... I can't tell - it is not using many Acceleration features, but still it has been compiled with the Acceleration SDK.
I had not tested the final build in SP2.

For people who are interested : Dino's F-35 is NOT compatible with SP2 ! You deffinately need Acceleration...

I was able to find out because i have my new monster machine for a couple days now ( Alienware Aera51ALX :isadizzy: ) and have only installed FSX/SP1/SP2 yet.

FSX crashes when i load the F-35 ( fantastic job, Dino !:applause: For as much as i can see at the moment...:d ) After I commented out all specific F-35 gauges the model turns up allright so it's 'only' the gauges which are not compatible with SP2. ( f.i. the just released JF SE5 works fine with SP2 only )

Btw, does anybody know, when Acceleration was released, was it only available via the MS shop or in other stores as well ??.....

Thanks much for an answer !

Cheers,
Jan

I bought mine at the local 'Free record shop' Jan, but I see that Bol.com still has it in stock.

:)

I've just bought and installed it, what a great plane. I need to spend some time practicing landings though !!!

One problem I noticed was that I managed to get the terrain gps onto two of the 4 displays (ie 1 large image) but it made the frame rates very juddery. When I went back to the other dispays, the frame rates were still juddering.

I'm running an I7, so any ideas ?

Amazon has it as well. So whoever you buy from online, Javis, I wouldn't be shocked if they carry it.

Thanks, guys. Finally found 'Windows Mail' to dig up my Acceleration emails ( was unhappily surprised to find no more OE in W7... :mad: ), proved i was Betatester for it, along with FSX.... ( my own memory needs upgrading as well... hehe ) so i never bought it. Just ordered it at bol.com, thanks Ferry. :)

I suppose no problem running it with W7 ?....

Cheers,
Jan

I was a beta tester and just logged back into my account and downloaded it from there. So if you were a beta tester, just log back in, or give them the relevant info at msconnect to relog into your account, and log back in and download it. IIRC, they never sent a disk out for it.

Also, yes, it works with Win7, or at least it's worked fine for me. Good luck!
