IRIS Tornado GR4 FSX Compatibility

Hello all,

Yes, this one works great too ... save for the non-visibility out the windscreen. I'm sure this is common to numerous FS9-FSX portovers - anyone lend a hand?

2-D panel works fine, but looking all other 7 directions, blank grey view.

thanks,

dl

DL, yesterday I posted this reply in the Tornado from LJL Simulations thread on this same forum, I think it will solve your issue:

If you want a mudmover Tonka, the freeware IRIS GR4 is your best option. Despite its age the model is spot on and it flies well in FSX, no gauge issues. A while ago I posted a fix for the VC glass problem in the ACG - RAF Marham thread here:

I own the Alphasim Tornado F-3 Package. I would like to add the F-3 VC to the IRIS one. Is that possible?? And would that be legal?

It wouldn't be possible, so legality is a side issue.

With FS9 models, such as both the LJL and IRIS packages, the model is built in to the main MDL file and cannot be changed or replaced without editing and recompiling the source files.

Native FSX models will have independent MDL files for interior and exterior, so you can chop and change almost at will. Unfortunately we don't have an FSX native Tornado mudmover. :(

Hey, thanks for the quick reply!
hmmm...thats sad! I hope there will be an FSX native IDS Version in the Future. I love that Plane and its Sound:applause:.

I'm working on trying to find better replacements for the avionics since the in-cockpit AP isn't functional, even though the information is displayed along with a few other things that aren't usable in the VC.
