Finally figured out a way to make tracking missiles in FSX to follow and hit AI aircraft.. So we will be getting this bugger out in about a month along with other neat sideshows

Superbug... that looks nice nice -- yes It will work with a cessna if you can get close enough into a lock on of the AI mig.. This is all done in a mission using mission codes and special created AI mig models..to make it clear..it is not for free flight or to shoot any AI out there .. there are no Dlls or simconnect neither.. Once it is released then anyone with mission making ability can use the migs to make their own missions..

that is sweet, will it be possible for two players to go up against each other in a mission if they have modified aircraft like the mig?
 
Yeah that is possible ...but for MP (Player against player) I would have to build a high detail Player flyable Hornet and a Mig from the ground up..and add the missile codes to them.. The best that can be done with an MP mission would be have several (Accel) hornet players spawn off a carrier and all go out to shoot at a bunch of the AI migs .. and of course the AI migs can shoot down the players too..that will be included for multiplayer...

Not sure, but IMHO, this mission does look identical to those mission included in Abacus FD6 which i own.

WOW! If that becomes a standard and WW2 stuff can be replicated then I might just have to buy a super computer to run FSX.
 
Anyway..this is comming along really great I think.. time consuming is testing the top gun school.. there are so far 3 phases where you chase a drone to try and get a (Lock on) and fire missile.. the 1st one is easy and shows how the missile system works.. the 3rd one is very hard..The AI drone goes ballistic--- I only beat it once.. so it gets approved to graduate top gun at top of the class if you beat it.. There are aslo actual missions with smart bomb drops..you watch a screen with a crosshair as you watch the bomb fly downward into a scud or a hardened bunker and it explodes.. just like seen from news reels..There will be single player refuel missions with AI KC 235 tankers and Multiplayer refuel missions where the host actualy flys the boom as other players fly up to it to get gas.. Tank kill missions and plenty of mig missions with the new missile system... whew!!!

Hey NoShades, Nice mission add-on.
Just got this.
I tryed the VN mission add-on. That pack did not like my system for some reason. This new pack is working great.

Thanks flyer01. This one has realism overides which de activate all crashes into objects..On the Vietnam mission I tested it on the ship with all realisms checked such as (aircraft can crash into other aircraft or objects) and it did hit the ships ref point and slid off the deck.. You can uncheck these in your FSX realism buttons and it should fix it..

How close do you have to be in order to use the lock-on missile?
and will the missiles explode if it hits the ground?

It was set at what seemed best for visuals.. the mission trigger is at 4500 ft away and must be zoned in at about 150ft X 150ft.. You can get a feel of it using the training 1 drone by flying in behind it you will hear the tone and bank away from it and you will see the (Tone lost) txt message/
